So I have a stupid question: If the Dutch national flag is red, white and blue, why is the national team color orange?

Because of our 'founding father', Willem van Oranje (William of Orange), Tele.

And because ORANGE is a nice color

May everybody, from Uruguay, Holland, Germany, Spain and all other countries, and especially all posters and readers of this thread, enjoy a great match!

God bless you kleermaker. We'll all be sad when it's over and we have no new Stones product to argue about. Let's enjoy the last four matches. Then God help us.

Just less than an hour to go, but I want to say that it's very weird that the second and third place in football just don't count at all, while in all other sports and championships the second and third place are also of worth.

But the whole closing ceremony is just failing. As for me I would like to see the best three teams at the end of the final getting their rewards: the champion the cup of course and all players a golden medal, the losing finalist a silver medal for all players and the third team (the winner of the so called little final) a bronze medal. The FIFA could organize something better than they're used to and take the other team sports and the Olympic games as an example. That way the match for the third place would be of any value and not useless.

I agree with you, with the WC it seems you have only one winner, if you are second you are a loser bit stupid though ...let's honor the first three

OK, thank you...Now: Why does Italy wear blue when it is not one of their national colors?

Holland 2 years winning, 24 matches consecutives winning with coach Bert Van Marwijk. Orange team is not the Germany 1974 with Cruyff, Rep, Neeskens, neither the one of Argentina 1978, with brothers Van der Kerkhof but ...I'm very confident with Holland 2010

I don't think they did much before the goal either, this shot by van Bronckhost came totally unexpected.

Forlans Goal... yes, nice shot, but to the middle of the goal, clearly a fault by the goalie

When this f"#€ing ball, takes speed, it's unexpected for the goalkeepers.
