Good luck to the Dutch today. I hope the yw in. Because if they lose, their won't be enough dykes in Holland to hold back the river of tears that will be cried.....Plus I want to see Germany beat them in the finals.smoking smiley

That's because Germany did not try to cheat the English out of a goal.
The goalkeeper knew very well that it was a goal but pretended it wasn't. I don't blame him for that (most goalkeepers would've done the same thing), but it does qualify as trying to cheat the English out of a goal. With all that in mind, I think people are a bit harsh on Uruguay compared to Germany.

This time I agree with you Freebird. Let's forget the Ghanese (or Suarez) affair. I remember how extremely quickly the German goalkeeper brought the ball back into the field, pretending his nose was bleeding.
Let's look forward to the coming match!

That's a normal human reaction kleermaker. Anyone would do that. It's not a cheating action on the scale of say, Maradonna's handball against England. Or one on an even grander scale of England winning the World Cup through a goal that has now been proved never to have crossed the line. And I don't consider Geoff Hurst a cheat in trying to claim that goal. Just human instinct. The linesman cheated the English not the Germans.

Pure speculation concerning the german goalie.

You like to keep the fire burning, kleermaker ?
Let´s hope that we don´t have to debate some questionable actions by one or several dutch players tonight ( or probably Sunday ).

You're actually saying by this pic: Football Is War, a saying of the famous Ajax-Amsterdam and Dutch national coach 1974 (WC final) and 1988 (European Champion) Rinus Michels.

Kleermaker, i say with this photo is a realy postal of the uruguayan team in all the story about the world cup´s!
This world cup win! with desire, strength and love for the jersey, and "EGGS" !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why Uruguay has won two cups!, isn´t a war! but it all depends on how it is experienced football in each country!
In Uruguay, lives and breathes football for life! Uruguay is a pioneer in the world cups! The first champion!

the photo you show here is the evidence that!
the world cups are won with futbol, love & "EGGS" !
Today, all South America is with us !
History must be respected

Cheers !

Okay, Rockandosis,

The hour of truth is getting near.
No longer talking about the past (1972 is a long time ago, so are 1950 and 1930).

Let's hope it will be a great match.

Just less than an hour to go, but I want to say that it's very weird that the second and third place in football just don't count at all, while in all other sports and championships the second and third place are also of worth.

But the whole closing ceremony is just failing. As for me I would like to see the best three teams at the end of the final getting their rewards: the champion the cup of course and all players a golden medal, the losing finalist a silver medal for all players and the third team (the winner of the so called little final) a bronze medal. The FIFA could organize something better than they're used to and take the other team sports and the Olympic games as an example. That way the match for the third place would be of any value and not useless.

Because of our 'founding father', Willem van Oranje (William of Orange), Tele.
