guitarbastard... Catalan people got "seny" which means that we are good people, with good behaviour, working hard and good. Catalan nacionalism will not start any war, don't panic but remember situation in Belgium, in Quebec, in old Checoslovaquia, not existing anymore. It wouldn't be strange to see another map of europe in some years time. Nothing should be fixed. Berlin wall desappeared. Our "berlin wall" will sure desappear.
Catalan people never give up. We try to be as much persistenly as possible as Barça is playing nowdays, as Spain with these seven barça players, plays.

yeah i love barcelona and i love catalan people. and i understand the historical background as i said (franco-regime) but people refusing to speak spanish in barcelona and answer you in poor english instead are kinda weird.
by the way: fc barcelona was founded by a swiss guy!!!

...I dare carlitosbaez to top this story related to the World Cup and Netherlands.........[www.huffingtonpost.com]

Bobbi Eden, Netherlands Porn Star, Promises World Cup Oral Sex To Twitter Followers
Posted: 07- 7-10 08:50 AM

Having vanquished Uruguay in the semifinals, the Netherlands is just one win away from potentially triggering an oral sex extravaganza. According to the bizarre tweet, several fellow actresses could join the the festivities. Eden currently has more than 23,000 followers.

Eden is not the first woman to make an erotic oath during the 2010 World Cup. Gorgeous lingerie model Larissa Riquelme promised to run naked through the streets of Paraguay if her team won the tournament. When the Paraguayans were eliminated in the quarterfinals, it seemed that the South American beauty's vow would not be realized. However, Riquelme has decided to run nude after all, as a "present" to Paraguay's soccer players

As for the Germans it's conspicuous how many immigrants are part of their team this time. All have the German nationality of course but many of them are from foreign origins (Boateng, Ozil, etc). As far as I know it's a new phenomenon in Die Mannschaft and I think also a part of the explanation why they're playing so well and so differently from previous German national teams. So if Germany wins the cup, many other countries can rightly celebrate with them.

Die Mannschaft has become a real cosmopolitan team! See also this link:

Man,expecting me to dig out every single post quoting with accuracy....here we go.
So would you agree Surinam has been entitled to celebrate with the Netherlands in
1988 in full effect? Great. No problem with that.Neither didn´t intend nor did
I put your observation in a bad light...you could´ve mentioned as well that the offense today was polnish based...nothing new.

I realize a certain kind of disrepect in your comments of what the german team had achieved so far exxagerating the dutch games by far.

Remember how many injured players lacked at this tournament, including Ballack as captain ( some think his absence has been more a gift than a lack ) the suicide of nr.1 goalie Robert Enke just couple of months ago and how low expectations had been before this tournament.

To sum this and more issues up and the style the german team played in South Africa until tonight with the youngest team they ever sent to World Cup it´s hard to follow your conclusions about their opponents beside Spain.

As a kid I spend ten years in a row my holidays with my family in the Netherlands.
This experience and many later travels and visits connected with Gijon 1982( you know about it,I´m sure ) let me turn away from supporting the German football team
for decades ( being confirmed not only by Linekers quote ).

This year they got back my respect but my "football heart" bangs for the Netherlands of course, although this year they´ve been the "better Germans".

SFF,

<you could´ve mentioned as well that the offense today was polnish based...nothing new.>

I don't know what you mean. What offense etc?

<I realize a certain kind of disrepect in your comments of what the german team had achieved so far exxagerating the dutch games by far.>

That's your interpretation, but not what I've said. I certainly haven't exaggerated the Dutch games, let alone <by far>. Actually I think they have played only one great half (the second half against Brazil) and had some brilliant moments. Not enough to beat Spain. But to compare this Dutch team with the old German football style is not correct.

Just read simply what I say here. That must suffice. Interpreting and filling in your own speculations does produce nothing but irritation and misunderstanding.

This is how I ended my post about todays' game:

<But Germany showed itself this tournament very well indeed. Big compliments for their team. I'm certainly will watch Uruguay - Germany and I hope both teams will make it a real match as it should be!>

If you want to read disrespect in that, well go ahead.

Very well done Spain! The best team won today, Spain shown us how to play good football. It wasn't a surprise but you dominated the match from the very beginning!
My congratulations for all the spanish fans here.

Germans, what happened today? I hope more from you, you have a very good and strong team! Well my friends, will see you on saturday to play for the third place, it will be very difficult for both.

Germany-Uruguay very interesting match!

Holland-España what a final!

Buena suerte!

Best regards!
Alejandro

Meh! drinking smiley this match has to be re-played for a few reasons:

- the german team was out for lunch
- the german team was replaced by doubles
- they never got their coffee
- they didn't eat paul the pulp
- they smoked a bong
- some of 'em drank the bong water
- all of 'em put on their winter boots
- Müller wasn't with them

other than that - Congrats Spain!
you had a tough time but you showed the teenies some cochones.

They listened to Jurgen Klinsmann on US TV before the game. I forgot what he said, but it was really BOR-ING

Seems everyone wants to hand the world cup to Spain before the game is even played but don't underestimate the Dutch.

They didn't get to the final by drawing straws. I'm quite sure they won't allow Spain to pull the corner play on them.

I wish the Germans would have won but it is better to have Spain lose in the final and live with that for eternity.

Now that's sick. You got no choice, gonna be a hard day's night like a dog on Sunday if the Dutch get rolled into their diving tactics. They act like punks and there's no need to because they're generally bigger than the opposition. That's the part I don't get. I just finished watching the game. The way that Spain controls the ball, everyone on their team can handle the ball completely. You can never underestimate that. They might miss a finish here or there, but they'll probably have the ball on the instep the whole time down the field.

Would like to thank the Irishman and the Nigerian who work with me for straightening me out on world class soccer. I mean, I used to be in business with an Englishman to do the news for MLS, but I saw it all in a different way this time around.

I never saw nobody refusing to speak spanish in Barcelona. Maybe a few radicals, but it's not normal.
And, yes was founded by Joan Gamper, a swiss guy.

Congratulations from Germany to Spain,
especially to my friend Carlitos!

A well deserved victory for the better team yesterday!

But no sad feelings for me here in Germany, as our young Mannschaft played wonderful football in some matches and you could always feel their team spirit. They represented our country very well and I think they do deserve a big "thank you!" from all German football fans.

I have many, many friends from the Netherlands and on the other hand I love travelling to Spain and meet those great people there...so I don't know whom I want to be World Champions...

May the better team win on Sunday!

Only joking...

I don't care much about it either, but in a few years time it'd be great to see Germany being listed as "3rd" for this worldcup in the statistics instead of being not mentioned at all.

Somehow I do even prefer winning the match for third place over losing a final.

well, i am not spanish, but i am very happy for spain, they played in a wonderful way and they deserved to win.
regarding catalanism, i start to get tired of it. i go to spain for business few months a year and when i go to barcelona i always have uncomfortable feelings.
it is a long and complicated subject, but i don't think that in catalunya there is a spanish occupation and lack of democracy.
sorry but in the north of italy we are staring to listen to the same discussions, and i believe our children in the future will have to learn a perfect english and chinese, and if they won't speak a perfect catalan ,lombardo or veneto, it will be the same.
anyway, congratulations to the whole spain and to the beautiful spanish people!

I have been in Spain since the start of the world cup.Although I am out in the countryside, I could see fireworks going off in a couple of small towns in the distance after the game. The whole country is understandably football crazy and are sure they will win the world cup. After Englands dismal display ,a lot of Brits over here have had the Spanish flag flying on their villas and on their cars.A superb display against Germany ,who also played well ,but the better team won.Viva Espana in the final on Sunday. smileys with beer

1998 - Quarter Finals
1994 - Quarter Finals
1990 - Winners
1986 - Runners Up
1982 - Runners Up
1978 - Quarter Finals
1974 - Winners
1970 - 3
1966 - Runners Up
1962 - Quarter Finals
1958 - Quarter Finals

"What offense etc" ...that´s usually meaning players mainly responsible for scoring, whereas "the defense" main task is to prevent goals ( both parts of course in association with the rest of the team...).

Germany´s offense yesterday was to weak because of the strenghth of Spain.
But in case you´ll do yourself a favour, those were
- Klose
- Podolski
- Trochowski

I think you´ve described very well the reasons of Hollands 74 final loss reflecting the attitude and spirit of arrogance when the Netherlands although
being the better football team lost the final against Germany.

Nice to see that´s obviously not the case with this years´dutch team, and
when they are able to get more balance and stability into their defense work, adding the return of de Jong and maybe replace van Persie with Huntelaar there´s a real chance to win the game, hard as it´ll be.

I don´t read disrepect in your posts, must be your posts itself from time to time.
But let´s hope our favourite team ( which might not be the best in the end )
will play a wonderful match against Spain.
