Also had a great time watching the USA fans. People say that the Dutch are crazy (and yes we are) when it comes to dressing up, painted faces etc. But I must say that the Americans are getting great competitors when it comes to that smiling smiley

It appears that American athletes are taking to football.Gridiron isn't going away, but greater numbers of young people are making football their first choice when it comes to sport.

Great win by USA. They showed enormous heart and grit after yet another unfairly disallowed goal.

USA were lucky this time: in the last minute!
I'm sorry only one African country (Ghana) has a chance yet.

This simply is not true. For many American children soccer is their first exposure to sports mainly because equipment requirements are light, injuries are few and the rules are simple to understand and it's been that way for some period of time. However, by 8 or 9 children are exposed to basketball and baseball and later still to football and once they choose to concentrate on a single sport the best athletes will gravitate to football then basketball then baseball.

Soccer has made tremendous strides in the last 20 years but it still has a long, long, long way to go to catch up to the big 3.

Actually the Ivory Coast got a ( theoretic ) chance as well, just need to beat up
North Corea with a massive victory and hoping Portugal not achieving at least a draw against Brazil.

But I´ve to admit,a very little chance, that´s true.

The American soccer is improving through tournaments.
and in my opinion, they are the most correct and gentlemen players and it's very pleasant to watch.

Proud to be an England fan!
And congrats to the USA! Justice prevailed, finally. This team was robbed by "strange" refs, like sthe guy from Mali, who stole the teams victory from them.
Now two of my world cup wishes have come true.
Two to go!
No 1: That Rooney relocates his best form. He must have misplaced his skills. No 2: That a mysterious virus kills all those plastic vuvuzelas... My ears, my ears!

I'm very proud of the USA side. They showed massive resolve to bring it home today. They surely deserved to go through to the next round. Incredible that yet another American goal was taken away by the refs, but they found a way to get a good result. I like this team. No quit in these boys.

England looked better today and deserved to get to the knockout round. All they lack is bit of confidence. I think Rooney will find the mark next game.

I love this tournament, hate the horns.

...true for the past, but did you realize how young and unexperienced their team is in this tournament ?
So far teams like Italy,France and concerning the first two matches England
"sucked" much more...
