Serbia!!!!People often forget that Serbian team is made of some excellent players like Vidic, Krasic and Stankovic

and utter donkeys like Zigic!

How bad is that bloke?

Ach!

If Ghana wins against Australia (and I think it will, Ghana is one of the most interesting teams so far) and if Serbia wins against Australia in the next game, Germany will need a large victory vs Ghana to stay alive ...

He used to be a much better player. He could even score from long distances. It seems that he got slower as he got older.I dunno what to make of him.He might prove to be useful

Congrats to Serbia. Poor Havo ... I think someone in Tenerife is chuckling right now. But I know: maybe Saturday The Netherlands looses the match. It's football!

Thats life kleermaker. Germany was the better team , and they played much better than 1982--1986--2002, when they reached the final
Sure the netherlands will win Vs Japan

BTW--Slovenia: USA 1:0, so far

I beg to differ Havo.Serbia was evidently a better team.Germany just couldnt score despite their best effort. We hit the woodwork a couple of times. All in all, a very even game but Serbia deservedly won.All best to you and German national team.

I beg to differ too. I can somehow understand the claim that the worse team won by the Spain fans, but Germany's performance was surprisingly poor today. To miss the penalty kick speaks volumes. Serbia played very cool-headed even under pressure when there was need for that (not very often).

Looks like the Ref stole a goal from the US team - bad decision, IMO.

That offside call negating the USA's third goal was BS.

thumbs down

Oops!

Great comeback by the Yanks. Looked to be a terrific game. And whats more, they were robbed.

A win v Algeria will be enough to put them through.

In fact, from what I can see if the last 3 games in the group are drawn, the USA could conceivably KO England even by just drawing with Algeria - if theyve scored more goals than them over the 3 games.

The Yanks are surprisingly good. Disappointed by Germany earlier today, though.

Hats off to USA! A very strange move from the referee to steal the goal from them. It was not an offside because he whistled while the ball was still in the air. Unfair decision but a human mistake I guess. Another great game!

Even though it would have been great for a "small" country like Slovenia to have have won, and thereby to have the ticket to next round, for the sake of the excitement in the last games, maybe it is better this way. A tight group!

Hmm.. Spain screwed up, France screwed up, Germany screwed op... will another big European force, England, join the club tonight? eye rolling smiley

The game is improving, I'm starting to enjoy this championship. It should have been 3-2 for USA but that is football.

US robbed of third (and winning) goal. This could make the difference in advancement to next round. Horrible officiating.

Very strange to see a French team play with so little unity - and a coach who didnt seem to have any urgency or answers.

Why do you find it strange? They've been playing like that for a few years now. Exactly what happend last Euro. Here in France nobody's surprised.

Regarding the USA match today, and the rules.

Is it OK for the other team to wrap their arms around,
and bear hug players and hold them? because the other
team was bear hugging at least 2 players on the USA.
Is that why the goal was taken away? We rewatched the
match, and I can not figure this out.

Maybe crazy rules like these are the reason interest
in football is lacking in the states..... heck, I dont know : (

Based on history I have low /no expectations for the USA team,
but around here. we are giving it a fair shake and watching these
cup matches, but it is kind of frustating, the rules seem kind of odd.

Good luck England ...
I am sure you will do well...coming up .... time to have a pint : )
