Funny how he places it in 1973 around the GHS sessions, but says they worked on it in Ronnie Wood's basement!

Re: Scarlet

kinda weird song, too much acoustic guitar. don't really like this one.

Don't dig the drumming too.

Cool track......not obviously a Stones sound until Mick's vocals kick in.

The acustic guitar sounds like a Mick overdub from 2020....

Ok, "October 1974" it is, so Mick's mention of the GHS sessions is off - by almost two years (as GHS was recorded in 1972). But hey, it's a GHS reissue after all, so maybe he deliberately took some artistic liberties for marketing purposes...winking smiley

Even funnier is that Mick says he was at that session while Jimmy Page doesn't even mention Mick beside the Phone call some months ago...

"Scarlet." I can't remember the drummer.

Is it Andy Newmark?

Anyone know who's drumming?

Bruce Rowlands?

I like it. Historical inaccuracies aside. I think it is safe to say there won’t be any deluxe version of the IORR album.

Sounds very It´s only rock´n´roll 1974-ish. Nice chorus that´s hard to forget even after just hearing it once.

Could it be that the reason Mick doesn't remember anything (but Jimmy does) is that he actually weren't there...grinning smiley

I have given it a few runs by now, and it is a funny thing to listen. I think it has a lot of Ronnie's first solo album feel in it. Probably it is the studio and the drugs... The logic of its structure escapes me still a bit (related to the latter thinggrinning smiley). Some interesting choices there in terms of verses, chorus, etc. Some would might think that it is under-developed or something. But who knows.

But the world is always a bit better place when a new Stones song is released.
