Some months ago there was a thread on here regarding the differences regarding the 8-track versions of Black and Blue, Some Girls and Tattoo You.

I've used the search facility but can't find it - any ideas?

What I'm really interested in is the Tattoo you differences??

I'm looking for the same info - I think it may just be a rumor (about Tattoo You). There are 4 different tracks on Some Gilrs, and "Cherry Oh Baby" on Black and Blue - which of course I am trying to find...

makes me wonder how long the tape in 8 track cartridges can last before age destroys them?

Yes, they are notably different though some are single mixes. I transfered the Some Girls tracks from 8T to digital ten years or so ago. Unfortunately the quality is subpar. Though I had three copies with which to work, all had deteriorated to some degree and 8T was hardly to audiophile to begin with.

I was not aware Cherry Oh Baby was different.

Wow, I didnt even realize that 8 track tapes were still being marketed in the 80s! Now that you mentioned it-when did they get phased out completely??

i think record clubs kept selling them until the late 80's

'Dirty Work' is the last record club issue on 8-Track. USA only.

Thanks mothra. I am already on demoniod, and I do not see the 8-track of Tattoo You there. I do see Some Girls 8-track, but I already have my own transfer of that on. Is that what you were referring to?

I actually found the 8 track some girls at at garage sale... had nothing to play in of course...sadly i lost it!
