"Glee: the Music, Volume 3 - Showstoppers" holds at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart for a second week, while the new release schedule was light due to the "American Idol" finale. "Showstoppers" moved 63,000 copies (down 54%) according to Nielsen SoundScan.

In the runner-up spot, Stone Temple Pilots return with its first studio album since 2001 as its new self-titled set enters at No. 2 with 62,000. It's the quartet's sixth top 10 album -- the band's entire output of studio releases. STP is the Billboard 200 albums chart sole new entry -- the fewest since the chart dated March 13 when Johnny Cash's "American VI: Ain't No Grave" was the only top 10 arrival.

It's the second week in a row where the kids of "Glee" have blocked a rock band from the No. 1 slot. Last week the Rolling Stones' reissue of "Exile On Main St." re-entered the tally at No. 2 with 76,000. (This week, the Stones fall to No. 7 with 28,000 -- down 64%.)

Sounds like theyve declared independence and only told the people who compile the album charts!

Thats still a respectable number I think.
Although going from #2 ---> #7 in the US charts over the course of just one week is quite a huge drop sad smiley

Sure its a drop but if memory serves me correctly, both Bridges, and ABB only made the top 10 for 1 week in the US charts.

Hey, folks, we' re talking about an album created 38 years ago. "Exile" sells very well worldwide. An album from 1972, on Global Chart is #1 on the first week and it goes to #4 on it's second week. I think sales couln't be better.

Now thats a moderate drop smiling smiley Although I doubt you have to sell more than 4.000 - 5.000 copies to get to #7 in Germany nowadays. Maybe even less.
Anyway, I think nobody expected that Exile would sell that good worldwide. Very respectable!

So its fair to say that this has been a success??? And that any tentavive plans to do other releases would now be further considered??? i reckon some girls, their biggest seller? or is tatoo?

Very impressive. Good to great sales worlwide. Magnificent. This sets them up for a big success if they ever choose to return with an album of new material in 2011-2012, just in time for their 50th anniversary(!). That tour and that album will be a media event!

In DK they are still on top 40 as No. 20 - very well for a rereleased CD.
