I started a thread on another music and audio equipments about the Beatles remasters compared to the lp pressings.
On the Beatles cd's the hiss and unwanted studio noises were deleted. So you could imagine that the result would give satisfaction.
But analog addicts mention too much compression on cd versions. And also that the Lp's pressings like the Parlophone one or Emi are already different from each other.

And what about the Stones LP's vs the 2009 cd's ?
I mainly appreciate the cd's (for now listening to "Sleeping away" on shm cd and it sounds excellent) but many records were made during the vinyl era.
Some 2009's have too much compression as we know (GHS) and the vinyl remains the best.
I will compare soon when my turntable is puck back to the original level and I bought a new top cartridge to give the best fidelity.
If some of you have made tests and have opinion, please let us know.
