Album-Charts
Die Fantastischen Vier erklimmen Spitze
Baden-Baden (RPO).

i think its great for the Stones. Think, next week they will climb the no.1
While #3 is great, do you think it will actually climb? If memory serves, what has happened a lot in the last couple of decades, is that the Stones enter the charts at the peak, and wind their way down from there.
Not to throw cold water on your idea, but without a 'hit single' or some other reason for people to buy the album over the next few weeks, I think all the pent up demand will be exhausted in the first week.
Does anyone disagree with that?

There will be efforts to push the new DVD-"Stones in Exile"--and so push the cd-s!

In France, the wholesaler Fnac represents a good share of the market. In the pop-rock section, Exile is listed as # 1. I suppose, this translates into a good position countrywide.

"31,000 units sold in the UK would be equivalent to over 150,000 in the US."
Yes Gazza, but by the look of it, album sales in the US are droping off dramatically these days . Could we talk about real equivalence between US market and UK market? I don't know. A few years ago, an album selling 76,000 copies would be on the tighr rope, on the limit - "in" or "out" Billboard's Top 10. Now 76,000 do offer No 2.
Anyway, just saw Global Chart. This week No 1 album has sold 149,000 copies. Only UK + Us sales of "Exile" is 107,000. "Glee" did strong sales for the nowadays measures in the US, but what about the rest of the planet? Georgelicks, what do you think? Is "Exile" on the way to a Global No 1 ?

A global number one is more than a consolation prize as far as I'm concerned - it's what matters most!

In terms of chart position, yes. Without a doubt.
Maybe not so much sales wise.
31,000 units sold in the UK would be equivalent to over 150,000 in the US.
All the TV promotion for the album was done in the US, so whilst I'm surprised that sales have been so good overall to begin with, I'd have thought that they'd have shifted more copies in the US (per head of population) than everywhere else.

Excellent! And those Glee morons (I don't even know who they are but I've just decided that I don't like them) didn't even make it to second place. Serves them right!
