Christ this sucks.

months back, after the announcememt, word got through that he had made a recovery and tour dates were announced for this summer, I was down to see them at Bloodstock and high Voltage. He truly would have got a heros welcome had he played, but about a week or so ago all dates were cancelled, which obviously didn't sound too good for him.

A GREAT one - saw him last summer and at 67, Jagger was the only comparable front guy with that sort of voice and energy - one of the good ones

Loved him in the early Rainbow (I don't care if some of you deride me for it) days, my favourite period for that band. He was one of THE best hard rock vocalists to ever grace a studio or stage. The album Rainbow on Stage, perfectly illustrates his argent gift as a performer.

Even in recent years his voice lost none of its power and majesty. I met him once; he was a warm and genuine person, humble to the extreme. He fought a courageous battle against cancer in recent months and through it maintained a dignity and spirit of hope, which ain't an easy thing to do in that situation.

Great performer with a monster voice. I was lucky to see him with Sabbath way back for Heaven and Hell, then again recently with Heaven and Hell. Great performances.

RIP Ronnie. So many great hard rock songs from him. Man On A Silver Mountain, Long Live Rock'n'Roll, Mob Rules, Voodoo, Neon Knights, We Rock, Rainbow In The Dark. Awesome hard rock singer.
I remember seeing him on an awards show back in the late 80's presenting. He and Lita Ford came on stage and he was in a nice suit and she was wearing a nice dress. Ironic that the two metal presenters are dressed very nice and conservative!
Didn't Dio get credited for the two finger salute, with the pinkie and pointer finger up?
