I never like the San Diego as much...although a sound board it didn't seem that good of one to me...I would say St. Louis sounded best although there were some other good performances. Seemed like the Argentina one was good also but I can't remember it as well.

maybe the thing about San Diego was the wind? I seem to recall there being a storm at the time and didn't Mick also mention being about to blow away on stage? I just remember ordering that cd, and being excited at the sound board and songs on the b stage and then being a little disappointed in the sound. Not the worst at all but not what I expected for a radio show

not a soundboard - an fm. same with st louie....

fabulous sound and one of the best perfs of the entire tour...

although mono - the paris board is good, but as with most sbds, it's pretty antiseptic, atmosphere-wise....

bremen would be a fave of mine (as would st. louis) if they had played LQ, the singular highlight of the tour set....

Yes, I believe that is why I really wanted the SD due to LQ being played, as it was at the show I attended in Orlando.

Bremen is very good, and I enjoyed Stuttgart and Cologne in 1999.

MSG, NYC 12/17/98 the Crystal Cat Labels"Sweet Home New York City" 2 cd release is an incredible recording and performance. The recording is an audience recording but is SB quality with the atmosphere of an audience recording and the Stones are on fire that night....Great version of "Might As Well Get Juiced" and the Keith Richards songs are also excellent.

[home.bresnan.net]

It is one of the best audience recordings I have by any band in my collection........

strange - cos the sound is totally PRIMO on mine - maybe we just have diff tastes in sound-quality....

Tod I'm wondering if I just have a cd set from a different label or something with maybe an inferior sound? I'd have to dig through my cd's to find the info on mine. It wasn't bad, it just didn't seem like a good fm recording to me.

it was a little "loud" - but the stereo separation was good - and, unlike many recordings, there wasn't a sound quality degradation at the b-stage. fantastic perfs of last time and lq....i think i have 2 or 3 versions - sister morphine and one or two others - each is great.

In any event it was a darn fine performance, as you said!

Shephards Bush Empire

Quality gig, good song selection, good numbers thrown in.

Also seem to remember a few mistakes occuring over the gig, which i always like to see, dirty.

Come to think of it, would love to hear bootlegs of this show and the Voodoo Lounge Brixton gig.

Any chance if there exists bootleg copies of these shows on yinyl anywhere?

St Louis 12/12/97 (great show with an unusual setlist and special guests, one of the best shows of the last 20 years in my opinion)

Paris 98 (though you can only hear Keith)

Shepherds Bush 99 (unusual setlist and a great recording)

Wembley 11-6-99 (thought this was a soundboard for a long time, couldn't believe it when I found out it wasn't, I think it was mentioned on this board. You can actually hear the recorder shake a few times)

Not anything to do with sound quality, but the Giants Stadiums DVD, shot from behind the amps, offers a fascinating insight into what goes on behind the scenes during the show. When I first become interested in the Stones I thought they hung around backstage for a while afterwards (I think this stupid now that I ever thought that, but this has happened on a few occasions, I believe Hampton 81 and the last AC show in 89 are examples), but you can see from that DVD what happens usually, I think within two minutes of the final bow they're in the limos and off.

One thing I found funny about it, when they arrive at the stadium, Jagger got the limo, but Wood gets out of a van.

Many good ones mentioned here. One is missing though: Las Vegas '99. I have a boot of that show called Casino Boogie and they're smoking on that one.

Has the non-"Live At The Ten Spot" material from the Capitol Theater, Portchester made its way out? The broadcast part of the evening was excellent, but the extended "Little Queenie" that they pulled out after the feed went down was unbelievable.

So was Giants Stadium #2 a few nights later. A cold, windy night, but it would have been worth it for "Love In Vain" alone. Amazing show.

St. Louis is fantastic from beginning to end.

San Diego is hot for Out Of Control alone. Listen to
the guitars at the end....

Paris sucks imho (and I was there front row); maybe you're tricked by the superb SB tape that circulates?

Try Praha instead, an exc. overlooked show thumbs up GS and OOC are extraordinary!

Err, St. Louis was released, with the best possible soundboard mix.

That is also my favourite B2B-show.
