Not even lip-synched or nothin'

The whole show is friggin' fantastic

It's funny in the theme song when The Beach Boys sing that the Rolling Stones are from Liverpool...

One of the greatest Stones Tv appearances ever.

And their performance is even more remarkable when you consider that they took the stage AFTER James Brown.

ANY act who didnt crap themselves with fear and run for the exits after watching THIS -

has got balls....

An incredible line-up of performers and essential footage of the band.

1964 saw the passage of the landmark and in some parts of this country controversial and much hated Civil Rights Act. But you could not tell that from this show. Good for the kids. Music had much to do with civil rights. On one of the blues series broadcast on TV B.B. King's eyes wetted up when he recounted his first trip to San Francisco to play before his first predominantly white audience. When he saw all the long haired kids lined up outside, he thought they had the wrong hall. The kids had discovered him before he discovered them. For all turmoil in the '60's I remember it as a hopeful time. I do not feel that way now. I am very disapponited in my generation.

Love this DVD. Stones are awesome - but James Brown, WOW!

John Mellencamp has tried to be James Brown for years - hair, moves, etc.. It ain't gonna happen.

Michael Jackson is the only one even close as a dancer. Prince copped the split for his live sets.

Just $11 at Costco yesterday

Yesterday I went Costco for food shopping. Things are very expensive ... yada yada the economic situations.

But I still can't help myself ... I always stop to look at the CDs and DVDs. At first, I had four discs in my shopping cart, including the TAMI Show. After starting to fill my cart with food, I realized that I had to put some CDs back. I kept only The TAMI Show (along with food and paper goods...)

i recall a gang of us going to see this at the Scala in Kings Cross ( when it was still a cinema club) 30yrs ago. James Brown stole the show of course. Looking forward to picking this up on DVD.

The greatest Brian Jones Era footage. The NME Pool Winners concert from the same year comes close. Abssolutely stunning live act this band is. Oh yes it is.

Based on not very strong evidence I would claim that the Stones BEFORE AMERICAN TOUR 1969 hit their strongest and tightest peak about the TAMI show time in 1964. That was the time time when they had "Five of us against the rest of world" attitude and they were still VERY musically cohesive and tight band from the club circuit era, a simple blues band basically. When the Jagger/Richard "pop songs" took over, and Stonesmania made it impossible for them to hear each other any longer, and the band started the experimention (in studio) with new sounds, etc they achieved another kind of height, but as a cohesive band they somehow lost the tightness of their early days. That's what I hear from their live stuff from 1965 to 1967.

I would claim it would take until 1969 when the band refound their original tightness as a musical group and that this time matched perfectly with Jagger/Richard songs.

Exactly. The TAMI show footage shatters the stupid myth that the Stones really became The Rolling Stones in 1969.

Sorry, I wasn't saying you were hilarious. I meant the Jan & Dean song saying the Stones were from Liverpool.

The boots I've seen (and I have one) have the same footage as the release. I do not know if there is any film of the three songs they did at the show that were not filmed.

According to Gazza'a own Rocks Off, they performed Not Fade Away, Tell Me and I Just Want To Make Love To You also at the TAMI show.
