Mick and Keith will be there at some point. I can't see Fallon doing this for his health.

Keith Urban is a pretty good guitarist who although now plays country rock, cut his teeth of rock and roll. I'll be be giving him a listen along with everyone else on that week.

Perhaps that is the Keith somebody (of course I doubt it) that Fallon alluded to.

Keith Richards is a planetary household name. Keith Urban is not. That settles that.

I don't know you how deduct that considering Fallon said "And the other guest's name rhymes with Keith Richards."

Why not?

Is Fallon promting this out of the goodness of his heart? I'm not saying that the Stones are going to show up and play, but I do think it is quite likely that one or both will somehow be involved.

Why would Fallon premire "Stones in Exile" if they aren't involved somehow? Fallon is a huge fan and at least an acquaintance of Jagger's.

Two mainstream corporate whores and a jam band. This is who they get to represent the Stones in 2010?

Ugh! Rock n' Roll is truly dead.

Late Night With Jimmy Fallon is on NBC...
NBC = NBCUniversal...
Stones reissues are from Universal (Music Group)

Yes, he's a pretty good guitar player, although has certainly entered the world of wimpy pop music with each passing CD. Here's a good early clip:

Here he is doing a respectable version of Gimme Shelter (although the real star here is probably Alicia Keys:

I stand by my original posting in this thread from March (welll...'cept the part about playing all of Exile live...that was just delirium and wishful thinking)

oh my god -- this is so exciting!

I can't believe how blase everyone is sounding. I was just watching Late Night Jimmy fallon, saw the announcement, and came over here and saw this thread.

Holy shit -- this is awesome! clearly isn't hype. Monday thru Friday of that week in May various non-Stones ppl will playing songs from Exile and then Friday Keith and Mick will be on!

I'm going make my bet now that the Stones will play a song from Exile on Jimmy Fallon.

I'm also going to make a crazy prediction---and if anyone has already made this prediction I haven't seen it---that on Jimmy Fallon the Stones are going to announce an all-Exile tour in medium to small venues around the world!

Yes!!! smiling bouncing smileysmiling bouncing smileysmiling bouncing smileysmiling bouncing smileysmiling bouncing smileysmiling bouncing smiley

Alright Swiss, you have just given your own post a bump with a reminder that you are off your meds.

No all-Exile tour in medium to small venues around the world. As in, no tour. As in, no tour for '010. As in, no tour this year. As in, no Stones tour this year.

And whatever other ideas you have floating in your head - the Stones performing a song, Mick AND Keith on the show together.

Remember, Keith hates phones and Mick can't be bothered.

The promo I saw basically said they would be there..."a guest that does this (as Jimmy does a Mick impression), and someone whose name rhymes with Keith Richards."

didn't leave alot of doubt in my mind.

skipstone, damn -- caustic much?down boy! Somebody may be "off their meds," but it's clearly not me winking smiley

The only meds I take would be one dose of glorious springtime, one dose of brand new remastered Stones music on the way (wooohOOOOOO!), and one does of healthy optimism --- that's just me and my personality. Honestly, probably someone most people would prefer to hang with than someone spitting nasty venom all the time. And probably easier on the eyes too.

I clearly said above "(cept the part about playing all of Exile live...that was just delirium and wishful thinking)"

As far as there being on the show. I gots my hopes. I resurrected what I said threw it out there audaciously knowing it's a long shot but I mad emy prediction on St Paddy's Day in March I'm sticking to it!

Or it could be Fallon doing a Mick/Keith impression. He already did a pretty spot-on performance of Neil Young on his show...can't see why he wouldn't do Mick and Keith. He did a pretty good Mick impression on SNL some years back.

Again, why would Fallon do an entire week of promotion for the Stones if they aren't going to be involved somehow?

I'm not saying they are going to come out and play an entire concer like McCartney did for Letterman (although that would be cool) but I think they will particapte in some manner.
