"Plundered My Soul" truly was a "trick up the sleeve an ace in the hole"

This is a bordeline great song... It's best Stones track in a long, long time. I love the swagger. Is it me or is that Mick Taylor on guitar?

P.S. Don't be fooled into thinking this is an old song. Nearly everything on this track sounds brand new, Bill and Charlie may be the only thing on here from the original recording.

I am delirious with happiness...the Stones are back. Mick Taylor is back with the Stones. Yes, Mick struggles a little with the high notes, but this is the best Stones track I have heard in ages.

Hey guitar players! It's in key of A, open G, capo 2nd fret. The cool chord in the chorus is a B major. It kind of shifts between A/Bm and A/B major. Very simple.

And listening to this the tenth time in a row, I am struck by the great lyrics as well.

I agree, it just about ruins the song for me, along with the typically sterile Don Was production. Thanks again Don, you never let us down.

Mick's falsetto is good though, but overall, I'm not very turned on or turned off by this song. I feel it's just sort of there, not bad, but not particularly good either.

It may very well be their best song since whenever, but that's not saying much considering how mediocre they've been for the past 25 years.

Mick's voice is like on Don't Stop or Keys To Your Love

I agree. It has its moments, but the vocals ruin it, also the backups.
And the production ruins the rest, as it would have been much better to leave it more bassy and with much lesser treble.

It's 5 am over here and I just heard it for the first time all the way through, full blast. Got my blood pumping red again; so good to hear Jagger up in those high notes over some good old open G..
