Everything about this track sounds brand new,but who cares?

It's not like they altered the original album. I mean I would have an issue if they added a new vocal to Sweet Virgina or Tumbling Dice, but this is totally different.

Would it really be that interesting to hear versions of 40 year old songs that are half finished? I'd much prefer to hear this which is essentially new Stones material. Isn't this the exact same way "Tatoo You" was made?

I am not one to complain about new Stones music. Besides what better way to market (lets face it. This is what this is all about) themselves?

Most posts on this board anymore just shows how prophetic Mick Jagger is ......"would it satisfy you, would it slide on by you, would you think the boy's insane?"
I could care less if they took a drum beat from 72 and added every thing new to it. Either way it's the Stones singing a new to my ears song. Oh boo hoo they changed an unreleased song!!!! Big deal. I love what they are doing and I doubt every song has new vocals added. I'm glad to be able to hear more work from the Stones whether old or new or a mixture of the two.

I really don't like the vocal so upfront and Jagger just sounds a parody of himself....Negative bit over with. I like it and I like the fact that they're finishing off songs and Mick T's playing is great on it. Plus it's way better than any of the other crap crap that is released today.....apart from Drive-By Truckers!

That preview blew me out in the garden. It's great. No it doesn't sound much like EOMS based on those few seconds, but it's awesome nonetheless (Actually it reminded me of something from Wandering Spirit). Mick does great vocals on the track it seems.

I think it sounds great, and i really don't care what parts of it are new or old.

But I do think think the mix does sound Exile-ish. And Mick is singing in an older style flavor.

i like it, nice groove. but micks "updated" vocals sound a bit out of place, way too out front of the mix. the falsetto at end of verse is cool though.

Well, this is the kind of song we've been waiting for all those years! It sounds fantastic! Old school classic Stones rhythm with great vocals and great lead guitar by Mick Taylor.

Now up to the next studio album with this in mind!

Upon first listen, I hated it. I had the same feeling I felt when I listened to the horrible B-side version of So Young that came out in the nineties. The original outtake from the seventies was a hundred times better and leave it up to Don Was to fu*k up another song.

But I just caught myself humming Plundered My Soul in the kitchen. And I've listened to the 45 seconds merged version a couple of times. I really quite like it! Even though it's kind of loud and all mushed together to where I almost can't even hear as to what instrument is doing what, it's still sounds awesome.

I'm hoping all the outtakes will be as good as this one.

isn't that part of the exile sound?

from what i've heard, i love it! can wait for the spingtime and cranking this loud!

Yeah Exile is mashed together in a different way though. I can't explain it. Listen to Rocks Off, Tumbling Dice, the end jam of Casino Boogie, the end jam of Ventilator Blues...then Plundered My Soul. The mashed-togetherness just sounds different.

I'll use So Young as an example. The original guitar solo from the seventies outtake is awesome. The B-side single version of the solo is the same solo but with crap added, like a piano solo in the middle of the guitar solo. It's to the point where the solo sounds lackluster.

Anyways, I'm looking forward to hearing what Dancing in the Light with lyrics is gonna sound like. The instrumental is awesome enough.

Mick is the master - go home Bono and Macca.

It sounds prety cool and its nice to hear something new from them even if the basic track is old... But Exile is a classic, I wish they'd just leave it alone and have the previousley unreleased material as a separate project.

Looks like I'm going to be unpopular, but it sounds pretty poor to me....deffo a filler track and not worthy of a place on Exile...

er..thats exactly what its supposed to be...

I hate the new vocals, but love the drums, bass, piano and guitars. Who on earth ever expected Jagger to be bothered releasing outtakes like this. I just think it is utterly fantastic something from the greatest band ever -Watts, Wyman, Taylor, Hopkins, Jagger and Richards - would be releasd in 2010.

And who would have thougt it would have Jimmy Miller credits.

It's got the snarl that is evident all over Exile - and even some on Goats Head Soup (Save Me in particular has a similar vibe actually). The tone, the sound, the vibe - it's all there. The vocal - OK, it's a little bit odd. So what.

BUT.

If you listen to the Amazon clip and turn it up, you can hear something that is something I've only ever heard from The Rolling Stones. There's something the vocals do that when the note goes down in one place, it almost seems to get a 3D kind of sound to it. Lisa and Cindy did a gobfucking fantastic job of sounding like the other backing vocals on the album.

Overall I give it a big tongue licking motherfucking A+.

Those guitars sound absolutely glorious. But Jagger's new vocal sounds too over-the-top to me ... too reminiscent of his solo stuff. The vocal also reminds me of "She Saw Me Coming" from ABB ... anybody else hear that?

But I am so thrilled to finally have some new Stones music, or should I say "old Stones music" that we've never heard before?!!!!! It's been a very long wait!!!

And with the MT guitars, it's like going back in time to hear the Stones at their peak. As someone else here said, this is going to be our soundtrack for the summer!!!

Thought it sounded terrific from the preview, surreal in a way to hear the classic Stones sound but being unfamiliar with the song. Definitely getting a Tumbling Dice vibe from it, very loose and sexy.

Amazing that this is going to be the soundtrack of our summer. Imagine how good it'll sound after a few drinkies and whatever else takes your fancy!

Cannot wait for the release.
