850 posts in 2 months time is just too much, especially since it's this continuous stream of how you understand it all so very well. It just makes IORR a bit less interesting to go to. It's about quality, not quantity.
Concerning my Who is Who post: I would say that 1 or 2 OT posts in 7 or 8 years (when did IORR start?) should not be too much bother to anyone.
Mathijs
You are not the one who decides how many posts are allowed in how many time and neither the one who is managing the threads here. Accept that. Just skip my posts. Do you have a TV? Well, when you are looking at a program you're not interested in any longer then you zap to another channel or you switch off your tv. Switch off my posts and be happy. If you think you can set standards for others, then you must stick to them in the first place, no matter what. But you don't set any standards here and you are not the one who decides what is quality and what isn't. The same as for quantity. I find many of your posts below my quality standards, but I don't tell you what to do or to not to do, Mathijs. You suggest to have more rights than I because you're longer on this site. But that's only an idea in your head. Well, read this post and leave the following ones alone or read them and be annoyed. That's up to you. End of discussion.
Yada yada yada yada ...

The problem is: IORR is dear to me, and I have seen many very well respected people leave this board due to guys like you.
I do not make any judgment, but it simply is annoying that every time someone starts a post that could develop into something interesting, where many people can chime in and share their thoughts you manage to post umpteen posts within ten minutes and the entire post just goes dead. Your presence is so obnoxious it just kills the fun of this board. There's many, many people who I'd like to see contribute here, people I agree with and I don't agree with, and I see them all slowly disappear.
Personally I find it extremely irritating seeing a dozen of your posts in every thread I think could be interesting. It makes me skip the post, and it makes IORR a less interesting place.
And that is a crying shame.

Okay, you are being served, Mathijs. I've decided to quit. This time I won't come back, so don't worry, your problem is solved. Though I find your posts to me extremely rude, I won't reply to this last one.
The replies in an OT-thread that already has been deleted were reason for me to decide to leave. Especially Bliss' frank and honest comment (which I appreciate) made it clear to me that my posts too often are received negatively. Well, obviously because they were negative. My conclusion is that I'm not apt to participate in a discussion board. No big deal. HM, I appreciated your reply much. It was very kind. You know what I mean, about YCAGWYW. SwayStones, we had some clashes but there was also humour and fun and even a little conversation in French, a great language!
So goodbye, to HM, SwayStones and those whose names I don't have to mention. They know very well whom I mean themselves. They were some kind of Stones 'soulbrothers' to me, to express it sentimentally. Best wishes to you! I'll restrict myself to the Buy/Sell/Trade section of IORR, where the great uploaders of IORR live. It's good to be there once and a while.

I've seen better players in my local pub. I'm not joking. Mick Taylor, once great now not so great. He should get off his backside and start practicing his guitar at home before he starts playing in front of a paying audience. It would be interesting to hear what his fellow musicians would say about his playing.
I saw Mick T way back in the early 90's at Leas Cliff Hall in Folkestone with Snowy White on guitar and Snowy blew Mick off the stage in terms of playing.
I actually think it's quite sad to see him like this.

I can think of one exception to this and that is Jeff Beck. His playing now is as good, if not better than his supposed peak period late 60's - late 70's.

My point too. My post early in this thread was more of an answer to all the naggers on Keith and Ronnie, and the fact that many of the same people crying for MT back in the Rolling Stones. I'm a fan of all three guitarplayers, but none of them are at their heights anymore. Just the way it is.

I think part of the reason Beck is still playing great is that he knows what he is, a guitarist. He loves playing the guitar and by all accounts is constantly practicing his trade even when he is not on stage. The passion is still there.........
