are these play lists a joke? why even hire a DJ, let alone one who's a celebrity, just to program an hour of classic rock?

20% of the show is him talking and playing guitar and it's great. and he's having fun... well, I love it

The first show was very promising, but now it´s 90%
greatest hits stuff. Proud Mary? Ronnie, come on.
Pagan Baby would have been a cool choice from CCR.

Thanks for posting the show, strettonbull!

But sure, to hear him talk and play is just great.
But he shoud dig a bit deeper in the catalogue.

Re: Ronnie Wood to host Absolute Radio show

Yeah I am a little surprised at the stadium rockers - Born to Run, Sex on Fire, Give it Away, Even Flow - I can understand him plugging his buddies, but if there's anyone with access to rare choices...The first show made sense. Ron Wood should stay behind frontmen.

i get the impression that this whole deal is music directed by someone else. it seems awful generic...hope not too cynical but after bob d. and especially little steven, does ron have any thing really to add? is he even behind these selections?
....

It's cool to hear Ronnie on the radio, but is it just me or is this show not very "inventive"? Basically Rock mainstream songs and not really anything very interesting from Ronnie...

To be good (interresting, exciting) on the radio ain't easy. It may look like a relatively simple job but it takes time, dedication and passion to produce a show that will attract and keep an audience. Just pushing "greatest hits" doesn't require any talent. May be Ron doesn't care that much about his new job, it's new for him so it's fun. I love radio very much especially Little Steven "The Underground garage" which is the best rock and roll show on the radio one can find currently. I love love Howard Stern show it's very well produced and entertaining.
Rock and Roll,
Mops
