But who's that pretty girl in "Too Much Blood"? She has a familiar face. Was she is in Oliver Stone's "Salvador"?

I think you may be right, Doxa. I knew I'd seen her somewhere else.

There's even a Stones reference in that movie too - where James Woods gives a young kid a present - a Stones t-shirt!

Credited on 'Video Rewind' as 'Mexican Girl' and as 'Maria' in 'Salvador'

This is a lame 'Thriller' rip-off and based on that I SHOULD hate it, but it's actually one of my favorite Stones songs from the period. Great groove, nice guitar/horn stuff going on, a good chorus and some funny 'rapping' from Mick. They should have replaced 'Sympathy' in concert with this on a tour. Charlie's playing is the same on both!

I've searched the web for the remix, with the bit about Meanwhile, back in the jungle. I've never heard it. I know there are various remixes on youtube. Anyone have it? I mean, a way to put it on youtube?

Well I just played the damn thing and that bit isn't in it. Is that the remix that everyone knows of? I do hear the Jacko Thriller bit way more than the LP version.

It's not in that remix that I could tell. Is that the remix everyone knows that, ha ha, I don't and have never heard? What is that remix called? Dammit! A friend of mine used to tease me about that. "You've never heard THAT?" he'd chirp at me every few months. Bastard. Now I find this thinking, cool, I can finally hear that damn thing and...nothing.

The thing I always rememberd most about this........in 1985 when I found the 12" remix was how the base line was completly different from the album version.

I always assumed this wasnt Bill Wyman on the remix, mayybe a hired hand by Mick?
Hell...it may not even be Bill on the LP version.....Gazza? anyone? help with this..I always wondered.

According to nzentgraf it could have been Robbie Shakespeare, Ronnie Wood or Bill Wyman as the only other person to play bass on the album is Keith.

Chuck Leavell (keyb)/Jim Barber (gtr)/The Sugarhill Horn Section
CHOPS (horns)/Sly Dunbar (perc)

Love Mick's humor and irony in this, despite the macabre subject matter.

Thanks Skipstone,Maybe it is Bill on the album version, but for some reason I dont think Bill went in and cut a completly different bass line for the 12" extended dance mix.(I am probably wrong tho)

That bass line is so different from the album version. It is actually pretty cool how that bass is changed so much and it still really drives that song.

The bass just sounds remixed to me, not totally different. Bill is even mentioned on the 12": (from memory) Mick says, "What do you say to a one-legged woman? Spread your leg! ... Bill laughed at least."

Does anyone know what the second film clip is in the video? I know the first is Basket Case. I also wonder if that Life Magazine really had those gory photos in it.

What about Keith calculating the market? This song is practically a Jagger solo venture.

In an interview back when the album (Undercover) came out one of the Glimmers said that Too Much Blood was created spontaneously in the studio when jamming. (I remember something like, took us 20 minutes.) So possibly not really a full Jagger solo venture.

Scaringly enough, the cannibal didn't receive a sentence. He was found legally insane and deported from France to Japan.
Where he still lives, 70 years old. I wonder if he ever attended any Stones concerts there...

I always liked it.

Kinda funny that the 3 songs they released as singles from this album (undercover, She Was Hot, Too Much Blood) all managed to have their videos banned and/or censored at some point for various reasons.

I may be mistaken, but wasn’t “Too Tough” also released by the band as a single (albeit not a successful one)?

The screeching sounds are Ronnie. The damping and the melodic stuff is Barber. Supposedly, Keith does also play on it, but I haven't identified his licks.

Keith on chainsaw; a foreshadowing of the fight scene in One Hit.

Yes, in the US with "Miss You" on the flip.
It didn't sell.

Jim Barber talks about it on his FB page. He does regular FB Live chats where he plays guitar and chats and answers questions. He gave great insight into the Stones in studio and on the road as Keefs guitar tech in the 80s
