The Big Chill has that great part in the funeral where it goes from the church organ
to real song.

You can't always get what you want is the song on the Big Chill.

Before we get all the Scorsese mentions I say that the best is still "Memo from Turner".

Definitely Monkey Man/Gimme Shelter/Memo From Turner in Good Fellas. That was AWESOME!!!

Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.

I don't know if it's "the best," but what immediately popped to mind was "Satisfaction," with the GI water skiing behind the military boat in the middle of the jungle in the Vietnam War classic, "Apocalypse Now."

"Take all the pain...It's yours anyway"

smile: this really is a semi-annual thread - [www.iorr.org] -
so here's my semi-annual mention of Nearness of You in Basquiat ...
and how about Only Found Out Yesterday in Pirates III - the best part of the film by miles

This is what comes first in my mind too. Unbelievable unreal scene.

I really cannot remember the title of the movie, it was about a prissoner, and in that movie you hear almost the whole Beggars Banquet album.
I saw the movie about 25 years ago on the dutch tv (pffffff i`m getting old, long time), mabey someone else now the title of that movie.

Phelge you've got my vote, "Out of Time" in "Coming Home", and I also like the use of "Walking the Dog" in the Swedish TV series about dogs !

Probably not the best, but Paint it Black at the very end of The Devis's Advocate fits great.

This one for me also; not just for the power of the song, but the fact that the lyrics perfectly reflect where the character is at that moment - great way to end a movie...

Memo Fom turner - Performance without a doubt IMO
but also,
You Got the Silver in Zabriskie Point which just goes so well with the jaded melancholic vistas of Death Valley.

Satisfaction in the film Melvin and Harold - it is used twice both times to Mary Steenburgen dancing - once as a stripper and once tap dancing on a game show.

Agreed. A superb movie and those last words "Vanity my favorite sin" and than immediatly the intro of Paint It Black starts, just genius.

Well the FUNNIEST would be JJF in the film JJF with Whoopie Goldberg!
I love the bit where she's jumping about to it trying to find out some secret message or something.

And also the end of Full Metal Jacket....that one was cool too!

I'm going with "2000 Man" in my favorite movie, Bottle Rocket.

But I can't argue with Can't You Hear Me Knockin'in Blow.

The Movie was "The Jericho Mile" starring Peter Strauss (1979)

I also heard the only Dvd release of this movie is a Dutch one.
