Hi , I always think about that in my mind , everywhere i say I like rocknroll and which bands I like , everyone says , OH , those are satanic , better dont listen to them , take care boy!
One day I was talking in my school about the stones , you know , and then the bishop came and he said , those men are satanic , you have to take care about what you listen , boy , people become what they listen to!
I didnt take care about him , anyway , ACDC , Led Zepp , and every rock band you mention , people that dont like rock say : there are songs that you put them in reverse and it calls satan , and all that shit , even u2 , some people say u2 works with the devil , so , you cant do any famous band sounding very well with a big , big hit on the lists without being named satanic , thats a shit , i hate it , give your opinion , please

To my surprise ordinary people think that Stones are devil worshipers.When I came to college from Athens to an island every people I spoke about Stones were scared of them.Jesus,like living in an other world.

Some people thought Elvis, Jerry Lee, etc. were satanic.
Especially down here in the "bible belt" of the U.S.

well, naming an album Their Satanic Majesties Request was kind of asking for it.

one thing i've always wondered about that title: did British people immediately get the joke -
that it was a reference to the wording in a UK passport, i mean? that wasn't clear at all to anyone i knew
(in the US) at the time - it wasn't until years later that i found out that's what that referred to.

oddly - or maybe not - the Stones apparently declaring themselves satanic didn't surprise me at all at the time.
it was strange to me to learn last july that there are Polish authorities who still view them that way.
i felt very embarrassed for those authorities, and very proud of the Stones.

it's a play on the phrase inside a UK passport: "Her Britannic Majesty requests and requires ... "
the Stones were calling the UK authorities satanic at least as much as they were declaring themselves satanic.
as i've noted, no one i knew grasped that at the time, and i'd love to know
whether it was immediately obvious to UK fans. (how common was it for fans to have passports?
or was the phrase famous enough even if one didn't have a passport of one's own?)

i doubt many bands are actually satanic it's all a gimmick to increase record sales and cause controversy and controversy creates cash.

and said that was the most satanic he ever saw.

Personally I think Black Sabbath Mark I is still doin' fine in this class.

When Rainbow recorded "Long live rock n roll" in a castle in France they had severe problems with a little devil who caused them a lot of trouble. I think they blamed Ritchie Blackmore for this because of his interest in black magic. On the cover of the album you can read "no thanks to Baal".

Bassplayer, the Partridge Family wasn't entirely manufactured,
but was based on the Cowsills, hence my reference
to Danny Bonaduce.

I saw Susan Cowsill perform back in August at a show
featuring women artists.
She seemed to be somewhat embarassed by the emcee
when she was introduced as being responsible for
the inspiration for the Partridge Family.

BTW, Laurie Partridge was hot!
