If we can get fans to commit to buy 10,000 tix, this show can happen!

Email dreamtime@att.net with name/email/how many tix?

We will have to arrange additional charter flights from London, New York & Los Angeles

This is for NEXT New Year's Eve!

Keith has a house there. Keith just re-released the song Pressure Drop he did with Toots & The Maytals. They all played with Jamaican Musicians at sometime (Mick & Peter Tosh - Walk & Don't Look Back). They sing about Jamaicans in Hot stuff.

It's time for them to perform there with a special reggae/acoustic set and what better way than as a charity concert for the children of the Caribbean.

A place where the fans will be able to enjoy the music with freedom!

They can also make a spectacular DVD from the show.

This is a serious proposition which can be done. Get on Board!

I was at the opening of this outdoor venue in 1982 when they had The World Music Festival with.....The Clash, The Grateful Dead, The English Beat, The Beach Boys, The B-52's, Squeeze, Peter Tosh, Jimmy Cliff and more for three days until sunrise!

I would imagine that 10,000 tickets would be pretty easy to sell.

and it grosses $5 million. The Stones never play around that time of year and wouldnt get out of bed on NY Eve for that amount of money, let alone bother interrupting their Xmas breaks to rehearse for a one off show.

Nice idea, though.

Yeah, only Cohl's scams on rs.com have any credence as most times his scams come true.

If this event were real, it would be advertised on rs.com however your rs.com fan club membership would not gaurantee you tickets but there would be an essay contest as to why you deserve to go, but you'd never see a 'winners list'.

Some of you need to sharpen your reading skills?

Of course this is not a real show as of yet. I'm trying to get fans to express an interest in putting this together. It certainly would be a unique Stones experience for all of us who have seen them on almost every continent and with a distinct local musical influence.

And again, the date makes it special! A very special benefit concert where the boys would finally be able to leave some money in Jamaica & The Caribbean for a good cause.

Logistics, Keith has a house there. Mick can fly in from his private home in Mustique, where he enjoys the holidays. It's very simple.

Think of the DVD, The Tropics, Reggae and Fireworks!!

Stop being negative and find your 60's positive will and help make it happen!!

It's a great idea, but the planning seems a little late in the game to try and pull it off.

Because it's NOT late in the game. It's over a year away!

DREAMTIME, nice thoughts you have however the boys will be too tired following their "Altamont II" revival concert just before the proposed Jamaica gig.

Keep working with Cohl on the idea though and perhaps it will pan out?

:-)

Those were in the middle of a tour, though, so what they lose in money in one gig they make up for in other shows...as well as TV spin offs from some of those shows.

Since 1976, the Stones have only twice done 'standalone' concerts that werent part of a tour - Toronto 1977 when they were specifically to tape a live album, and Oshawa 1979, when Keith was ORDERED to perform a concert and got the Stones to help out. Even before Knebworth, I cant recall the last occasion when they performed when they werent already together for a tour. Even the Nicaraguan benefit show in 1973 merely preceded a tour of Australia, Hawaii (as well as a cancelled trip to Japan)

I'm not trying to sound cynical or dismissive, but historically its just not their 'thing' to do one off shows - and they never seem to perform at that time of year (they were offered millions to play a show on 31/12/99 and even turned THAT down). Your best bet for a private gig is likely to be in the middle of a period when they ARE already working...ie the Joint in 2002, Deutsche Bank show in 2007 etc. Wouldnt you think so?

Maybe you do everything the same forever, maybe other people decide to do things differently when they get older? Possible?

Maybe it will be a show after a fall tour of North America?

Maybe Keith will be vacationing at his Jamaican home and be willing to help out poor children by driving down the road to MoBay to play a little music?

Maybe Mick will be vacationing at his home "Star Groves" on the Caribbean Island Country of Mustique and be willing to help out some children by flying in a small private jet and hop over to jamaica for a couple of hours?

Maybe some people become more altruistic later in life and want to leave a better legacy?

I've seen The Stones on The 4th of July with special treats.

The location combined with reggae music makes it possible to be their best selling DVD ever!

NO, I DO NOT WANT TO SELL TICKETS TO THE SHOW.

I would like to handle the travel arrangements like I do all the time.

Would you like to attend this show if possible? That's the question here!
