Should the Rolling Stones be cryogenically frozen?
Date: November 28, 2006 08:35

Should the Rolling Stones be cryogenically frozen upon their passing?
Walt Disney and baseball great Ted Williams were cryogenically frozen, so why not Mick, Keef, Ronnie, Charlie and even Billy W?
That way, if there's ever a cure for old age or whatever ails ya' they could possibly come back again.
Or...
at least their DNA is well preserved and if human cloning ever becomes legal, or someone dare clone them illegaly, then there could be the Rolling Clones.
Brian is too far gone at this point to be frozen however his DNA may be taken from his skeletal remains or hair for cloning purposes?

After wondering why they charge so much for ticket prices when they're already gazillionaires a billion times over, maybe they need the cash to preserve their bodies for eternal cryogenics?

well, with a lull in the tour, the mind tends to wander about possibilities for the future...

Didn't they try it recently in Chicago ?

The cryo-treatment seemed to work...they've played some cracking shows since.

Not the way they've treated poor old Ted Williams.

Yes and they could all be put on display at Disney just like the President's;
maybe even have them play a song or two;

They have been for years!

Why do you think they now have 3-4 days between concerts?

Takes that long to re-freeze them after the encore, and then thaw them out just before the next show.

Walt Disney was never frozen. That's a myth. He was cremated and has been emtombed in a cemetery since his death in the 60's.

don't forget about mick taylor!!!!!

that way they could unfreeze them.....and possibly the age old question of who is better.....mt or ronnie will finally be answered by a civilization far more advanced than we are!!!

Just cryogenically freeze their brains and then transplant the brains later into their clones. That way you have fresh bodies with the same memories, skills etc.

LOL. If they have 10 more years to live, that's 3650 days. If they freeze them and only unthaw them on show days, that means 3650 more concerts. At 50 concerts a year, that's 73 more years of the Rolling Stones. At least until someone's half-frozen arm cracks and falls off while attempting the riff to Brown Sugar.

Mick Taylor should be frozen too... and the debate can be renewed in a few hundred years: Ronnie Wood or Mick Taylor?

And who knows? At some point in the future, it might even be posiible to "splice" these two great guitar players together into some kind of hybrid. (Rick Waylor?)

Uh, yes...That's a great plan.

But the rest of us were actually joking.

They must be very careful in the future when thawing the Stones. The Rolling Stones must be brought to room temperature very gradually, to avoid deep cracks and wrinkles. They need to be left unopened at room temperature in their cryogenic canisters for several hours...

Some questions to consider:

When their DNA is "reconstituted," and assuming Bill Wyman is included in the freezer, would the Rolling Stones be young again -- so would Bill therefore be back from his retirement in this century?

I just can't even wrap my head around that one...

Also, I would also be very curious to know who is their keyboard player in the future.

Well, I agree with Duane and I'm not joking...why not if the technology and capability exists or may exist? Then, another tour is always a possibility instead of just a hoping...

OK, NOW you're joking, right?

If you are serious, a good reason would be that re-animated zombies probably aren't very good at doing soul music, or anything else that requires feeling.

Because they've had their shot at this life. And now they're just dead.

It happens to people all the time. Deal with it.

Well, Keef has been a zombie since 1970 or so...he even says he has no memory of the 60's, 70's or 80's... so no huge change for Keef...

Zombies are surprisingly good at playing soul music, the problem is their idea of lyrics is to scream "Brains! Brains! Brains!" over and over again.

Maybe they should be soaked in warm water first, that's how I get my cans of concentrated orange juice unthawed.
