Awww... What an awesome photo !

The MG car is terrific !

You really pleased me with this photo since I am fond of "old/ancient" cars ... Chevy's .... Deloreans , and most of all,the sovereign

I am a Frenchie ,as Mick affectionately called them in the Old Grey Whistle Test in 1977 .

I was just joking Sway because you seems to love cars, I don't need a car to impress, but if I'm sittting in a car and they can't see me the car will do the work......

Credits gratefully received if anybody knows them.

that one's owned by the Michael Ochs Archive. Ochs likes to designate the shots he owns as his without letting us know who took them.
his collection is incredible, but his secretiveness about the photographers is ... odd.

What a scary picture of Keith hanging up his scarves.
Winos in 2010. Or 2011.

Thanks for the credits - I used to download shots without them, before I learned better, so I'm gradually trying to get things in order. Getty Images own the Michael Ochs archive now, and the shot is in their online catalogue (note that I didn't get the one I posted from there), along with a couple more obviously by the same person - identified only as "Michael Ochs - Stringer". Pity Stringer is anonymous, as it's a lovely shot.

No credit

beautiful! never seen that one, but it's plainly from a session that's normally labelled 1967, and i reckon that's right.
once again it's Michael Ochs who owns the rights to the other ones from the session,
and once again he doesn't let us know who took them.
i don't know if David Bailey or Michael Cooper normally sold off their rights like that, but ... ???

I think this photo transcends mere "rock-star pic" qualities; there's more to it. Reminds me of Stravinsky's "Firebird".
Or of figure skater Johnny Weir.

Yeah who knows, but it's clear that some sets of negatives/photos and their rights have left the nest with or without blessing of the photographers.

I really don't get that Michael Ochs point.
He buy the rights OK, he's makin' money on it OK, but for what reason he don't want to credit the phographers, a deal with them ??

i don't know the legal/technical term for it, but it's pretty common for photographers to sell their rights altogether -
especially when they aren't big names yet - to agencies or newspapers or whatever.
that's plainly the case with all those photos credited just "LFI", "Daily Mirror", etc;
and in a lot of cases the agencies/newspapers no longer have records of who took what.

Ochs probably acquired a lot of the photos in his collection from owners who hadn't kept track of who took them,
but i'm sure he also owns miles of shots where does know who the photographer is.
since he's a "rock historian", i find it weird that he doesn't pass that information along,
even if he's not legally obligated to. it's the historical record.

Compare the On Camera Off Guard book, where Mark Hayward has bought the rights to a lot of other people's work, but always gives them credit unless he really doesn't know who the photographer was.

They all had a great sense for fashion in the 60's and 70's.
