THE CHARLATANS join The Rolling Stones on a total of 4 dates as part of their “A Bigger Bang 2007 tour” in Romania, Hungary, Czech Republic and finally Slane Castle. The Charlatans recently released their greatest hits album “Forever: The Singles” which included chart topping tracks and live anthems spanning their entire career from 1990 to 2006 including ?North country Boy, Love Is The Key, One To Another, The Only One I Know, Tellin Stories to name a few! It is the bands second greatest hits package following 1998’s “Melting Pot”.

THE HOLD STEADY are ‘the band of the moment’ in the US and are exciting audiences and critics alike. Being compared by the US music press to giants of rock AC/DC and Thin Lizzy, is no small compliment for the Brooklyn based band. The title of their latest album ‘Boys And Girls In America’, is a reference to a line from Jack Kerouac´s classic novel ‘On the Road’ and was recorded with producer John Agnello ( Sonic Youth, Alice Cooper, Dinosaur Jr, Drive By Truckers, etc. ) With ‘Boys And Girls In America’, THE HOLD STEADY show their love of writing, making and playing rock n roll for the sake of it; ripe with anthemic choruses, genre defining and mind blowing guitar solos, great lyrics and the masterful mix of the keyboards, drums and bass along with several sonic treats.?

TINARIWEN’s roots rock rebellion of the soul is one of the most entrancing sounds to emerge from Africa in years. They have been described as originators, survivors, the Stones and the Clash of the Sahara all rolled into one. The band have been performing at a host of festivals this year including Glastonbury, Lovebox, Latitude Festival and now Slane Castle with The Rolling Stones. Their new album “Aman Iman” has received rave reviews with BBC Radio One saying: “This is SENSATIONAL! The album of 2007 and we haven’t even finished 2006 ?yet. There are plenty of bands who know how to rock, but very few who know ?how to roll. Tinariwen are the masters of roll’n’roll”. Uncut Magazine said ?“This extraordinary band are clearly pushing for more than cult world music status. They fully merit it.”

FRANKIE GAVIN and Hibernian Rhapsody’s performance of “Jigs, Reels and Rock N Roll” at Slane Castle will coincide with the release of new album “The Full Score”. A close personal friend of The Rolling Stones, Frankie Gavin has guested with The Rolling Stones on their ‘Voodoo Lounge’ album and ?with Keith Richards on ‘Wingless Angels’. He has recorded 16 albums with De Dannan as well as a number of solo albums, and three collaborations: one a tribute to Joe Cooley entitled ‘Omos do Joe Cooley’ with Paul Brock; a fine collaboration with fellow De Dannan member Alec Finn; and one with Stephane Grapelli exploring the languages of jazz and traditional music.#

Thanks...

theres no way though that the Stones are going to be onstage an hour after the Charlatans take the stage. Not unless they leave it after one song.

20.30 - 21.00 I would say.
