Let us praise "Dandelion"

Just listened to this on a self-made "Pop Era" CD. What a great snapshot of the mid-60's. Even thought about naming my band "The Dandy Lions"!

It doesn't get mentioned much, but I feel sure it is much loved. Whadda ya think?

I like it, although I currently don't have it on any cd's. The Dandy Lions would be a cool band name.

Definitely in my top five Stones songs. I think Jagger's vocals are great on it.

yeah, Dandelion sure is exhilarating -
like She's a Rainbow, drenched in the sound of love & good acid
Keith's demo version is just beautiful too - the guitar! the guitar! the guitar!

I always thought that Paint it, Black got me hooked on the Stones but in reality it was Dandelion. Just love that song.

Great song, great era in J-R songwriting.

Elmo, what's the tracklist of your disc?

I just recently listened to it on my car stereo and it sounded just great! It's a shame that there obviously is no stereo mix. It would be a great choice for a live novelty but there is very little hope that they will ever play it on stage.

Not quite as cool as The Brian Jonestown Massacre!

We actually went with Elvis Lee Jagger! Now there's a cool band name.

Thanks - lots of good ones to choose from in that era.

Couldn't agree more - but with the essential addition of the awesome 'We Love You' flip side. For a brief moment in time during the phsyco years the Stones clearly surpassed the Beatles in concept and execution.

Dandelion is a great song - lost to many by the dominance of the 'big hits'. So many unknown gems in their catalogue.

I agree completely. I love that version, more so than the final cut.

mstmst, I went back and added not only "We Love You" but also "I'm Free" and burned another copy. Thans for the suggestion!

One of my favorite tunes. Tends to be forgotten, even by me.

Was this song a b side?

In the U.S. it was paired up with "We Love You". We Love You was the b-side. Not sure about the UK. They may have been flip flopped over there with Dandelion being the b-side.
