I'd love to hear Rod make a real rock and roll record again and start writing songs again. He has been lazy in the songwriting department for years.

Give me sone crisp drums with a beat, great guitar rhythm and lead guitars, piano and some sax. I'd be happy.

Always good in concert. Would kick the soccer balls into the audience. And at the end would say" thanks for your money, good night"

Yes, Happy Birthday, Rod!

I've seen him once live, quite something to remember, during Rock over Germany 1993 at the Lunenburg Old Airfield FOS first row.

What I won't ever forget and I wonder if anyone here shares such experience and maybe can even give a hint if there is any footage of it, since I just can't find it on youtube, which is a kind of artistic act and maybe unique in rocknroll stage performance:

Rod is well known for working with the microphone stand during show. What I saw then is rather unbelievable, he took the stand and flung it high up in the air to make say two or so revolutions and for that moment I was fearing that thing would smash his head on its way back down. Really! However, he caught it in a perfect way.

Has anyone else ever seen him do so?

karaoke at best IMO? So, so lazy. Hardly changed the arrangements to boot? Why bother? Very lazy

BUT

He's done some great stuff so HB.....

...always loved his "Absolutely Live"-album (very early '80s).
Great tour, great setlist, great crowd (the old Wembley?!), great performance.
