Hi HB, did you ask her about the time when she was going steady with Bruce Springsteen and she took photos of him in concert when he didn't want photos taken? He saw her snapping away and told everyone in the auditorium that she was his ex-girlfriend.

You mean when he dragged her out during the MUSE concerts? (I just saw a photo of that event - talk about ugly!) I didn't -- it was more about her book, Rock and Roll-- and the Sones

She was onstage for the first NYC '72 show - she took that famous image of Mick in the leather jacket.

What an incredible shot. For some reason I was picturing one of the other ones from that show in my mind. This is really a great photo.
Only thing that could make it even better is to have a shoe in midair in there.

indeed, for example: [www.lynngoldsmith.com]
she used to have a "diary" on line that included a great story about that shoot -
how Keith was drinking Jack & smokin weed & behaving like a perfectly alert & graceful gentleman the whole time,
but Lynn, who hadn't touched a drop, passed out in the bathroom. "even the air around him is dangerous!" :E

thanks for the interview, hbwriter - how long will it be on line?

Re: Lynn Goldsmith - Stones

I'm wondering if Lynn is one of he very best Stones photographers I have ever seen. For starters I wasn't aware that many iconic shots that have been with me all through life were taken by her.
But looking at her Stones work I can tell that she really knows the what Mick and Keith are about in many ways. She 'sees' them really well. The Anaheim 78 shots of Mick are some of the most intense rock shots I have ever seen. There is something about the ominous lighting in the sky, the angle of that extra high stage, the water-hose, the shoes of course. Jagger seems even more angular in those hiked pants, and his almost acrobatic poses.
Keith looked great in 78; looks good in the 81 Patti shots; talking with Ronnie on the 75 truck. I like those pics with the red lights from the 86-88 section of Keith.

...the direct link to some of her "photodiary" pics is this:

Keith and Mick are under the sub topic On The Road....and her famous quote re: Keith is...."I never imagined that breathing the same air as him could be that dangerous."

there are several other great photos with some of her interesting thoughts of her subject.

Plenty of good empty seats in the upper deck at the Big A, unless it was typical LA folks leaving early to beat the traffic.

You just cannot imagine how crowded it was on the floor for some of those shows. I was at the Dome - 18 years old and very fit - I thought I was going to die. It was fun, but it was very crowded.

By the way--Lynn was happy that she received some nice comments here and that you listened to our chat--I can imagine a follow up soon
