Heartbreakers with your forty four, I wanna tear your world apart
You heartbreaker with your forty four, I wanna tear your world apart

A ten year old girl on a street corner sticking needles in her arm
She died in the dirt of an alleyway, her mother said she had no chance, no chance
Heartbreaker, heartbreaker, she stuck the pins right in her heart
Heartbreaker, painmaker, stole the love right outta your heart

Oh yeah, oh yeah, I wanna tear that world apart
Oh yeah, oh yeah, I wanna tear that world apart

Heartbreaker, heartbreaker, you stole the love right out of my heart
Heartbreaker, heartbreaker, I wanna tear that world, wanna tear that world
Oh yeah, oh yeah, I wanna tear that world apart
Heartbreaker, heartbreaker, stole the love right outta, stole the love right outta

Oh yeah, you shot the kid, he had no chance
Oh yeah, oh yeah, you stuck pins right in her heart
Oh yeah, you heartbreaker, I wanna tear your world apart
Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah…

Wonderful Billy Preston and M. Taylor. Keith's guitar plays a poor rule in here. It's MT solos and wah all the time??

I didn't know Keith was playing guitar at all on this track. Didn't he just play bass?

a period piece that hasn't aged well...and hasn't been played with any credibility since '75...doo doo, indeed....

One of my favourite Stones tracks, possibly my #1 Stones song actually, and one of their best singles tune wise. Great song all around. One I'll never get sick of hearing. Horrible title though. Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo? The hell is that?

Live, however, it should just be not played. I first heard it live on the Voodoo tour and was really surprised at how bad it was. Since then having found numerous bootlegs they've never played it live worth a shit.

wow. seriously, skippy? amazing how variant stones' fans tastes can be - i think it's among their very earliest pieces of...well...doo-doo

Yeah, really. It was the horns that really made it for me. Just something about the tune. The way the drums breathe, the middle break with the soloing, the overall tone of the song.

It just really works well to me and it's borderline genius I think.

the 1973 Version from London is the De-Facto Version of the Song

Ive been a big fan of this song since the first time I heard it. My first impression was that it reminded me of the theme from "Shaft" by Issac Hayes.

If I'm not mistaken, BA Uses the London version of Heartbreaker

one of Taylor's finest solos on record, imo..

I like the Govt Mule version, from Halloween, too.

love Jagger's improv singing over the end, on the album track

Always dug it - tons of cool stuff going on there: Charlie's drumming, a cool horn line, that funky clavinet, an awesome MT solo. Most post 73 live versions were weak, though I thought the Four Flicks version was at least an improvement over the VL tour

That's because they didn't play DDDDD at Brussels

Because of the 1973 tour - DDDDD has a much bigger star in my book, than it would have otherwise
Remember seeing it live in 1995....very excited when they started it; but somehow it didn't do what I hoped it would...at all

Absolutely great. It makes you sit up and take notice straight away in the Stones' finest tradition and carries you along with it, quietening only to surge up again. OH YEAH!
Yet another superb track from "Goats Head Soup".

It was never performed in 1978 - you must confuse it with some other song.

Sorry to say that I don't like any live performances of this very much - mostly because Mick's vocals don't match up to the studio track. It isn't my favourite song from Goats Head Soup in any case, but the studio version does at least sound as if Mick is thinking about the lyrics and not just making the right noises. At the moment when he repeats "no chance - no chance..." he sounds genuinely upset and angry, which he never does on stage (where he often gives the impression that he's struggling to remember the words).
