No date is given for this recording, but it's probably from April 1972.

It says one of the songs will be "When Will I Be Loved"

I never knew they covered the Everlys!

Just found this post by strettonbull from last year:

BBC CROWN JEWELS = VH1 Classic - Rebroadcast 10/17/06
Original Broadcast: BBC - Sounds For Saturday 04/01/1972

26th October 1971: London, Paris Theatre

Three Button Hand Me Down
Maybe I’m Amazed
Too Much Woman
Street Fighting Man
Too Much Woman
Miss Judy’s Farm
Love In Vain
Stay With Me

I don't know if it's the same concert, though.

I think that's the only BBC In Concert they did. Never heard of them doing When Will I Be Loved anywhere though.

Was there not a concert on BBC around 1974/1975 from Kilburn with Keith joining them for a couple of numbers? It would be great if its it thats on.

Deltics, that is the show I have in my Ron Wood book on that date. Plus "Im Losing You" in the set too.

This is a absolutely great show...It was recently on VH1 here in the US. If anyone wants a DVD copy I could make one for you.

Charlie

PS Check out Ronnie...He can really play

<< Was there not a concert on BBC around 1974/1975 from Kilburn with Keith joining them for a couple of numbers?>>

There was. Christmas '74. Don't remember if was broadcasted by BBC
However going by the songs mentioned on BBC's site, that's not the show showing tonight

<<Never heard of them doing When Will I Be Loved anywhere though>>

Me neither. Hopefully Deltics and/or Adrian will report back on this

This is the only one I've found that could be:

18th September: London, Oval Cricket Ground, ‘Goodbye Summer'
(Three Button Hand Me Down/When Will I Be Loved/Maybe I’m Amazed/
Stay With Me/It’s All Over Now/Country Comfort/Around The Plynth/
Maggie May/I’m Losing You/Had Me A Real Good Time/Every Picture
Tells A Story)
Note: Composers of 'When Will I Be Loved' are Don & Phil Everly.
Concert in aid of famine relief in Bangla Desh, supporting The Who.

Unless When Will I Be Loved is previously unreleased track coming from:

1st April: THE FACES. UK TV (BBC2) ‘Sounds For Saturday - The Music Of The
Faces’, London, Paris Theatre.
- Three Button Hand Me Down (Rod Stewart/Ian McLagan)
- Maybe I’m Amazed (Paul McCartney)
- Too Much Woman-Street Fighting Man-Too Much Woman (Ike
Turner-MJ/KR-Ike Turner)
- Miss Judy’s Farm (RW/Rod Stewart)
- Love In Vain (Robert Johnson)
- Stay With Me (RW/Rod Stewart)
- I’m Losing You (Norman Whitfield/Eddie Holland/Cornelius Grant)

Me too - that was soooo cool! Thanks for the heads up, Deltics! And now they're on again with Miss Judy's Farm on Guitar Heroes.

P.S. Ian McLagan beats CL hands down any day.

I was well impressed with Ronnie's playing. Actually, what a great line-up all round.

I'd love a (Region 2 or 0) DVD copy of this. Its a great show, I saw it on BBC4. If anyone can burn me one I'd be chuffed and pay costs, or can you buy a 'bootleg' DVD anywhere? nb I'm in UK.

Yes, it's Sounds For Satureday and gets shown by BBC4 about twice a year. I wish they'd tack on the two saongs they did for Top Of The Pops in 71 - Richmond I think was one of them and maybe Sweet Lady Mary? They re-broadcast that in the early 90s on some late night channel and I was fortunate enought to tape it.

Anyone know what The Faces played when they played live on French Pop 2 in 71?

I'm sure it's Too Much Woman misnamed as When Will I Be Loved.
