I miss this song on the radio at the moment! Mariah Carey, Band Aid and McCartney.. I've already heard it for a thousand times now.. And christmas is still ten days left pfft!

GREAT TRACK--One of Keiths best...Wish they release the Best of Keith Richards albums...They could have everything he ever did, Stones, solo, etc..And they would need to have this one to open the album with!

Rockinbud--I have it too on 45...Played it a million times back in the day..Sad no way to play it today.
I don't remember what the other song was on the 45..Does anyone remember the b-side track was?

The Harder They Come is the flip side on the 45

I can play it on my daughters recordplayer in Brooklyn, all the 21st century kids are into vinyl...go figure

... i guess you must mean the rendition from a New Barbarians soundcheck or rehearsal.
of course this one is much tighter, and is a fully-fledged production.
but that one has a lot of rambunctious charm as well

p.s. I got the new cd of Memo from Turner just for the GONE DEAD TRAIN track i loved so much...

what a great memory, listening to that 45! I love that "Harder They Come" version. and Keith's 'Run Run Rudolph' rocks more than any other Christmas song

it was written for chuck and he recorded it in 1958.since then its been done about a thousand times by everyone from lemmy to dwight yoakam.brian setzer does a good one too.you cant "out chuck chuck".a million guitar players have played his style but he's the original.he aint angus youngs favorite guitar player for nothing.

it's a very bad thing to say about Chuck Berry imho.
he's the man smiling smiley a really great, groovy version and of course great rendition of Keith.

way better than Dylan smiling smiley amazing Christmas song - that's surprising.
and nothing against Christmas...

I also have the 45 remember when it came out. keith has a birthday coming this week. hope he still has a little left in the tank. cant imagine life without him & the stones
