I was at a Christmas party last night where two piano players each sounded like they had lead in their fingers. It was horrible. I commented to someone that it would be nice if they could play like in She's A Rainbow, only to realize after being asked that I have no idea who actually played that part!

Wait a minute - Nicky on Mandolin in Love in Vain??
And do you really consider Nicky's piano lead instrument in Let it Loose? I see SFTD (IMO that was Jimmy Miller's brilliant input) and Loving Cup. Gues that is a matter of interpretation. I hear that Laslie guitar phrase as the anchor and the absolute STAR of the song is Jagger. The piano runs are great.

Nicky may have played the mellotron, with the mandolin sound, on Factory Girl. In 1989 Keith said that Nicky suggested the "fiddle part".
