The irony of Got LIVE If You Want It is...it's not live. It doesn't count in my world.

1. GYYYO!
2. No Security
3. Still Life
4. Love You Live
5. Flashpoint
6. Live Licks

I don't really count Stripped.

Get Yer Ya Yas Out
Love You Live (just for the El Mocambo side)
Still Life
Stripped

The rest I could care less about.

Obviously Get Yer Ya Ya's Out, which is nothing short of amazing, even if it doesn't quite display The Stones as they sounded back in those days.

I actually listened to Got Live If You Want It for the first time today, and although the peformances were fine and the setlist was brimming full of top tunes, the mixing ruined it. Mick's voice was way out front and actually dwarfed the instruments, and on loads of the songs the band was barely audible amoungst a choir of screaming teenage girls, which is incredibly irritating at the best of times.

Love You Live is dreadful, the band descending into being a bloated rock 'n' roll band with none of the style, quality or integrity of their former selves. Still Life is actually pretty good, but then, it followed Tattoo You rather than Black And Blue, so The Stones were riding high.

Shine A Light's suprisingly good, Flashpoint is very mediocre, Stripped has some moments that I just can't be arsed with (like the soulless readings of Like A Rolling Stone and Wild Horses) but also some massive highlights. I haven't heard Live Licks.

The fact is that, as with most other bands, The Stones just don't release the right gigs.

besides the obvious Ya-Yas, "Got Live" also kicks ass....love the abrasive raw youthful energy...great tunes.....warts, overdubs and all, a great listen

Apart from the obvious answer, IMO the best Stones live release is the EP 'Got Live if You Want It'.

Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out!

Why? It was an important period for the Stones. It was the time they started to play big venues. And their sound became fuller and changed into real rock!

1. Ya-Yas
2. El Mocambo side of LYL

Had they released '72 or '73 live album those would have been #2 or possibly even 1.

+1. The version of "I'm Moving On" from this ep is my favorite song the Stones covered.

Probably the only thing 99% of Stones fans would agree on is the the answer to this particular question is Ya Ya's.

Up to debate after that. I like Stripped (including cover photo).

40 Licks is worst, if only because of how they butchered "Rocks Off."

"Take all the pain...It's yours anyway"

Well they all have their merits for sure. Ya-Ya's is obviously the definitive document to most of us. LYL is unlistenable to me and Still Life is pointless. Flashpoint is consistent but I don't care for the flashy arrangements, sped-up tempos, and obvious overdubs (Mick's studio singing on JJFlash is cringe-inducing). Stripped is really great in places and it's basically a live album, though not always in front of an audience. No Security, while it may not boast the most exciting tracklisting, is probably the most consistent of their post-70's concert albums - it has good performances and some nice song choices. Live Licks has a good, meaty sound to it that I love, but the editing is atrocious in places. Lastly, Shine a Light - it's similar to Live Licks but a little better overall.

I guess, when I narrow it down, I'll call GYYYO the best, followed by NS, and then probably Stripped or SAL.

A lot of people seem to forget about this one. I am actually surprised how little a lot of people on here seem to like it. I think it's a pretty good live album. It has smoking versions of Satisfaction and Paint it Black that are better than the ones on Live Licks (IMO), plus great (not to mention first officially released) live versions of Connection, You Got the Silver, Some Girls, She Was Hot, etc. and also some great duets with Buddy Guy and Jack White.

1. Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out!
2. Got LIVE If You Want It! (EP version)
3. Still Life (should've been much longer)
4. Love You Live
5. No Security
6. Stripped
7. Flashpoint

I don't even own Live Licks and Shine A Light. And possibly never will...

YaYas, obviously, plus Got Live If You Want It (EP). The circulating Got Live EP outtakes (Down The Road Apiece, Everybody Needs Somebody To Love full version, Time Is On My Side) are so mouthwatering good that one can only imagine what an impact a full album of these 1965 live recordings would have had. Its not too late for a newly compiled 1965 live album, however, so far they always took the easy route by sticking to the ill-fated 1966 Got Live album and re-releasing it with new mixes.
