Does anyone here recall the proposed 1972 live album the Rolling Stones had planned to release, with Stevie Wonder as a guest, but couldn't do so because of their ex-management owning the rights to a few songs in the track listing?

Even after Allen Klein had supposedly gave them the green light, the LP was shelved anyway.

What else is there to know about this 1972 live album?

Lots!

Klein probably wanted a bigger cut than the stones were willing to give plus even if he gave his ok , the stones still had to deal with decca as well

btw my favorite bootleg of that tour is "you can't do that baby" i think it has the best sound

That's the same as the TMOQ release "Ladies And Gentlemen", right?

If they put this out now, that cover art image of the aged light pole with all the tattered and torn posters and flyers would be even more appropriate. Hopefully as part of Deluxe Exile On Main St.

Any chance at all that the Exile re release will be 3 cds (Exile, studio outtakes, Unreleased LIVE cd) and dvd of L&G?? This would be VERY appreciated

Only if Jody Klein, Allen's son, says so...

It may be probable now, as the Rolling Stones had just moved distribution of their post-1970 output from EMI to Universal Music Group.

i don't think they'd need it now but if so it seems jody is easier for the stones to work with than allen

Some vocals/guitar overdub have been done for the avorted live album.
You can find those reworked tracks on "Very Ancient, Thank You Kindly"

All 11 tracks that were worked on specifically for this project(not saying thats all they were gonna do but all we have avail?) are on Rattlesnakes STP box set. Of note "Happy" with Keiths dubbed vocals and "Tumbling Dice" with Keiths overdubbed b/u vocals are there( plus the mixing effort).

The worked tracks are less than 11.

The Stones being on UMG has nothing to do with it.

So that actually IS 11 tracks altogether(uptight/satisfaction two songs). Nah, I really dont know exactly how it woulda turned out but I received a tape of the mixed and dubbed songs from Bob Newbury at least a couple of yrs before it wound up on cd.

The overdubs have been made after this broadcast.
Btw, Bye Bye Johnny has been reworked and was not on the broadcast...
So, this has nothing to do with should have been the Live album.

-Closest is the right word. Probably no one here knows what songs are on it, or where they are taken from.

The tape I received(before anyone released it on boot) was not from the Cleveland b'cast.

that's kind of a strange playlist. Wouldn't the album have begun with "Brown Sugar"?

Not at all.
The VGP compile the Scorpio stereo tracks (including the overdubed Bye Bye Johnny) and Happy from L&G.

But I agree with you that Keep Your Motor is probably what comes the closest to the Lost Live Album.
