Thanks Green Lady for directing me to this thread. Some funny stories here and some suprising. Your name conjured up for me this image of a proper English lady in her garden, not staring out an office window. smiling smiley

As for me...late to the party, late to the Stones.

Because my favorite Stone is Mick, and I was 33 years old when I joined the forum. Hard to believe that was 10 years ago!

D & G had been out a short time. I wanted posters to know I was new to the forum and fired up for the 50+ tour. My re-obsession with The Stones was not planned, I visited IORR to see what was up for their anniversary and the news of a tour began to surface. I announced to my wife, I'm in and I will see them as many times as I can. It ended up being 3 shows... Brooklyn, Boston 1 and Philly 1. Worth every penny and minute I spent on the adventure, Now of course I'd love some shows at MSG but I'm not greedy and appreciate the valiant effort from this band, especially Keith. He gets allot of grief these days here but I see his effort as heroic.

Because I appreciate well crafted lyrics. It's more direct than "ActLikeAGoat" and not as crass as "CreasingYourButt".

Crawdaddy club was where The Stones got a name for themselves in the London area.

It was in a pub opposite Richmond Station and I lived down the road in Kingston upon Thames.

They never looked back after those days. >grinning smiley<

There's an interview with Keith from the Bridges to Babylon tour where he talks about how the Stones tours had become much more professional. and he says "we're late bloomers I guess"

I enjoy running, but try putting it off in my free time whenever possible! spinning smiley sticking its tongue out
Also, similar to some of your responses, all the good names were taken!
BTW-Prior to my first Stones show, I researched the songs Keith could have *potentially* performed, and forced myself to like them! grinning smiley
Never heard 'BTMMR' so I picked up the SG CD laying around and listened, it was great!

P.S.- Keef didn't perform the song, he did 'Happy' (Imagine that! eye rolling smiley ) and "You Got The Silver'!

So I am in good company. Once had a gypsy woman read my palm, back when I was in my early 20's. She told me my life would really take off when I was in my 60's. Laughed about it then, now I'm counting on it. cool smiley

this has been my forum name since ever on all messageboards. I picked it after all the ones I wanted were gone.

it's difficult to translate in one world but it means: playful, crazy, energetic, fun

on the plus side, how lucky am I to get a nickname without numbers and signs, all these kids being born now will have little to choose from tongue sticking out smiley

I make daily videos on the tour at [youtube.com]
Going to: London - Manchester - Twickenham - Berlin - Marseille - Prague - Warsaw

Buddy Young
Don't know if this has been discussed before, but I was wondering why you guys picked your particular forum name and (in some less obvious cases) what does it mean?

I picked the name Buddy Young because my real name is Boudewijn de Jong. With a little fantasy Buddy Young could be the international translation for my real name :-)

And for example, there's another Dutch user on the board called 'slasausjes', which means salad sauces. Always wondered why he chose that name haha.

Let me know!

Buddy Young seriously sounds like the name of some hilarious comedian from the mid-60s. A cross between Henny Youngman and Buddy Hackett with a side of Jack Benny.

My favorite song off of 'Love You Live'. I remember I also tried to set it up as my user name on some other web site, can't recall which one, and it was rejected because of perceived drug reference (crack).
