Another guitar player besides either Ronnie or Mick would be pushing it for how I identify with the band.

Waddy of course. He knows Keith, and Keith will decide.

If Ronnie's case becomes too stupid, it can become quite likely.

On the other hand, if Stones quit with Ronnie, he will left in a deep downward spiral, that can "kill" him (not die), but end in a miserable situation.
And then Mick might step up and force Ronnie to quit Kat, hold him under control and put him in to a severe rehab under strict conditions.
That's probably what will happen.

great thread!

I think someone ought to come up with some young guitarists.. some young hotshots..

the guy from north mississpi all stars who now plays with crowes does a mean taylor

at the experience hendrix show a few years back there was a guitarist who blew me away. not lang.. the other guy...

i would like to see them hire a new guy ..a young guy

why always the same 60 year old broken down dudes with their health issues?

in 1975 i really liked, that ronnie was choosed. Really like him. many of other NAMES were in discussion. .......but,cause all of his negative-stories in the last month--he hurt the stones.

Derek Trucks would be a good choice. Blues based, plays well with others and is a fantastic slide player....

Luther Dickinson. His predecessor Marc Ford would also be great, but I doubt Keith' ego would allow such a good guitar player for the Stones.

If and when the Stones tour again it will be with Ronnie. He IS a Rolling Stone.

Whatever mess he's gotten himself into will get straightened out - they've got themselves out of far worse scrapes.

Although I'd much rather see Ronnie in Ronnie's spot, I agree that Luther would be a dream to see in Ronnie spot... His dad, James Luther Dickinson, rest his soul, actually played on Wild Horses all those years ago. And, POSSIBLE RUMOR: I hear he may be able to bring his own purple sticky stuff to hang witk KR in the Voodoo Lounge. That's un-confirmed but if true, it could be a good ice breaker where Keith's concerned!

Peace,
Mr DJA

Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck, don't make me laugh. Like they could ever work with M&K.

Personally, I would enjoy seeing George Thorogood! Wayne Perkins is still around. Waddy would be a good choice.

But no one could ever be as perfect as Mick Taylor.

Why add a guitar player? What they need is a world-class accordionist.
I nominate Walter Ostanek.

No Ronnie's not a Rolling Stones anymore, he's just a Tumbling Bum in my opinion.
He's made some seriously stupid decisitions lately and he's travelling in a direction that has nothing to do with the Stones anymore. Believe it or not MJ,KR and CW are grown up gents nowadays, still, with a bit of rebellion left in their minds.

Been Stoned since 1964 and still am!
