Lorenz - I hate to say this, but I did notice this behavior from BB in the last few months - I was actually beginning to wonder if things were ok for him, because that is not his usual behavior.
I hope he's ok and that bv lets him back on.
hey cindy, I honestly didn't notice that...weird. I only know of the almost "normal" fight he and mickijageroo are having, but that usually stays amongst them and doesn't go too bad or offensive.
I don't know - I never report messages; nor did I spend time by the PC the day he was banned. I'm no spokesman

I see your point, but I desagree with you about the balance of OT and and Stones-stuff. Some got more OT than other and other got more Stones-related stuff, but all in all I think it all end up in alright balance. I also believe it`s easier, when it`s quiet from the Stones-camp, to bring up OT-threads.
Maybe if the quiet ones (like me) could come up with more topics the "need" of OT-threads will desapear more.
We need those who contribute, bad as good topics. Well, that`s my point of view

I don't know why Baboon Bro has been banned. Everything I've read by him, has been fine. Perhaps Baboon Bro and bv can find a solution to this?

Their were some non BB fans who decided to argue with him more persistently recently. Some of them are gone as well I believe. So I guess BV decided to just start banning everybody. Regardless of board popularity.

Ok, everybody is probably going to hate me for saying this...but i don´t miss the guy at all and BV has made the right choice banning him from the board.
I´m sure that he is a nice guy but all his non-stones related topics (Hungarian music etc.) is to much and don´t belong here at all.

yeah, he's controversial - I understand that much from opinions here. it's news to me that he behaved offensive and i have never noticed it. anyways, he got banned for an OT thread and I think that was not ok. he contributed a lot to this board, and like anyone who "dominates", he is controversial. that was the same with jumpingkentflash some years ago . still, you can ignore the threads you don't like and I felt that baboon was great for the diversity on this board

It is a matter of off-topic and on-topic. What I do not like is people posting a 100 times links to youtube videos they love but with no real Stones content.
I make my living from the web professionaly and I demand my customer to look at what they do and contribute if they remove the images and the multimedia bits. Then they are left with the textual contribution. The core of what they pubish. What Google see. What we do see in the snap of a second. It is a balance between noise and relevant content. Off topic or on topic.
I sure appreciate images do have a value but if they are 95% not Stones then people report it as spam so I am left with reports and reports about spam. I never ban. The IORR readers and visitors ban. If I get too many reports about off topic or offending or out of line content then I have to do what people expect me to do. If Baboon Bro spent more time on the Stones themselves and not on their roots, relations and off topic youtube links then I would be the first to wish him welcome back.

You know I understand BV's concern about too many OT posts. But I don't get the whole OT militia mentality on here. Oh if someone posts something I don't like I'll report them. Or if it's someone who has a personal grudge against someone I'll report someone. Here's a concept. Ignore them. Their are other major band sites that have ignore features. Where you can just indicate certain posters you don't want too read. Maybe Lord BV can try that. He would'nt have to monitor the board 24/7. Maybe only 23/6. Their are also very prominent Stones sites that do not have a seperate board for non-Stones material. Yet they still seem to talk about the Stones as musch as we do here and still have fun talking about non stones items. Maybe a slighly mellower attitude from on top down could go a long way towards restoring IORR to it's once top spot among Rolling Stones fan sites..........In my most humble of opinions.
