argument with Chuck?

I have been enlightened that the boys had an argument several years back with Mr. Berry and no longer cover his stuff live...a damn tragedy that...anyone have any information on this little calamity?

on the BTB tour they usually played Little Queenie on the b-stage but when it came to playing a show broadcast for TV, they usually dropped the song (or edited it out of the broadcast if it was a delayed transmission) because Chuck asked for performance royalties which they felt were excessive.

I dont think theyve made a specific decision not to cover Chuck Berry songs in concert per se - they just havent done so for the last couple of tours because theyve chosen to play other songs

It's a pity, cause nobody plays Berry songs like the Stones, not even the master himself!

hmmm...from what I have seen of Chuck...it makes sense...damn, does the old fool not realize that anytime the biggest act in the world plays one of your songs in front of millions of fans it does not hurt your career...no matter who ya are...typical Chuck (a great old fool though...)

oh i just love the fact that he is bitter and cant do thing one about it, the best part is they can play his songs and edit them out of tv but the audience
gets to enjoy them, but the topper for me is he DONT get paid, LOL

Very true. It's been one of the highlights of the tour in my opinion.

Misunderstood something...
Right... Pity for me I was off-line when this generous offer
came into print. But I suspect ol' Terry from ol' Oz
was the lucky fella' here...
And thats as good as anything!

Hope ya hear some of dem ol' Sheffield Steel guitar that nite...
Me, I may get to see them after all in Sweden. In 2007.

I know nuthin about filmin' Dodger; will let ya know if I hear anything.
The offering sounds way too kind; but anytime... :-)
