There is something to this early LP that always fascinated me. The sound, the relaxed, very laid back rythm. It's good for summer. Kinda baby Exile on Main st.
Probably the song selection on Out of Our heads is stronger, but Now is more "true", if you know what I mean.

The rockers are absolutely superb. The kick of Off the hook makes a dead man dance!

The guitar work on this album is superb! What happened to it? There has been nothing like it since.

I think it is the only true Keith Richards / Brian Jones guitar album. What can I say: TIGHT AS HELL!

By the way, on CD I have one of the early decca ones. How is the SACD version?

All the SACD releases are great liddas. If you don't have Now, then get thee quickly to a CD store!

Actually, Now!, isnt really a Stones Album, patched together by London from various Decca Sources...its a combination of parts of the UK #2 and singles...Still a great LP, though.

I really liked the early U.S. albums and the way the songs are sequenced. I am glad that ABKCO released them in their U.S. versions for the SACDs. It's amazing how great they sound especially the stuff they recorded at Chess Studios. Amazing!

True. But on the other hand all early albums were more singles collections than proper albums. Yet Now is an exception. It's not only a better collection than 2.

Now has a magic with it that 2 has not.

By the way, my mum's old LP is so scratched that it is unlistenable. Is the re-issue LP worth buying? I have to say that buying an Lp is souch a pain in the arse now days that I almost gave up!

Ooooh, don't know about that. NOW has a couple of gems missing on #2, but #2 has the great Suzie-Q which has some of KR's best lead playing ever. Close call though and to each his/her own.
