Live At The Max - Blu ray ed.-mini review

Just got home to find LATM - bluray version, in the mail.
Sadly, the rumours were wrong again, NO documentary included...
However, the pic was excellent for a IMAX-movie 19 years old, and the sound was fine, however I could of wished for a little more bass. I laborated with my sub woofer, to try and get some punch. However, the sounds opens up nicely when I turned up the volume a bit, but as I said, a little more bass would´nt hurt.
Now, I did not watch the whole movie thru, I just picked some songs, and everything looks and sound nice. But it irritates me that the promised docu was´nt included.

expect a TWO-DISC "ultimate" edition in 6-9 months >grinning smiley<
What worked $$$$o well for regular dvds will work for bluray

I am also pissed there is no bonus material as promised.

Also they reduced the inlay card to just showing the title on one side, and the songs on the other. The regular, "old" DVD had some pics included.
It´s another missed opportunity.
However, on the plus side of things, they put a DTS track on the blu ray.
I watched some more today, and it is of course essential for fans.

Hi there

Did you get the Live at the Max blu ray from the states as I was going to order from Amazon but wanted to check that it was region free??. Does anybody know. WE have region B here in New Zealand the same as Europe. It is much cheaper to but the US version than buying it here so wanted to check if anybody knew

Cheers, Brendon

the US Version seems to be region free.
I bought a US import from amazon.co.uk but got a disc which had a german "FSK-Freigabe" logo on it and it plays on my region B player. Globalisation is so confusing ;-) You buy a US import in UK, get it shipped from Germany and get a disc which seems to be made for the whole world as it has this logo on it.

I got the US blu-ray edition Live at the Max in the mail today. The picture is outstanding, much sharper than previous editions. I agree that it could use a bit more bottom end in the sound, however.

I got this today. Initially I wasn't over impressed with the DTS-HD surround but a bit of volume improved things no end. The picture quality is a big improvement over the DVD. I love the version of Happy.

Sadly no extras but improved pic and sound make it a worthwhile purchase.
