With 4,5 million people in Norway and 4,4 million 100% hooked on the Olympics starting tomorrow in Torino Italy I should probably close down IORR for the entire Olympics and watch Norway collecting a bunch of medals. But luckily I don't really care. Too busy with the tour. So IORR will still be on and live even through the Olympics. Any sports freaks here? And the big question: Will Norway have a medal before the Stones play Puerto Rico Saturday evening? OK. I have to admit it. I am just as crazy as the others. We are all the same. It's not 4,4. It's 4.5...

But I really like the winter-sports.

Bode won't have much of a chance anyway, he is not in a good shape this year.

As long as Canada gets the Gold in hockey (mens and womens), I'll be happy!

Vancouver is hosting the 2010 Winter Games and they've already announced that they need another $100 million or so to cover cost over runs. I wonder how many more announcements we'll hear in the next few years about further cost overruns.

@Lorenz: and my country, Switzerland, no medals at all...... not like in the old days. Austria will get most of them ..again. Schnüff.

Peter Forsberg injured, Mats Sundin not in form, Lidstom better in small rinks.

The IORR web went online March 1996 so IORR will celebrate 10 years on internet next month. I just realized. That was at a time when Microsoft still did not think internet would "happen", so they invented their own "internet"... Personally I have been on internet since the late 70's, long time before the web happened early 90's . PS. The printed magazine started Nov. 1980.

Adam Malysz will win both ski jumping gold medals!!!!!!

Like most Americans, the only thing I know about the Winter Olmpics is that Bode Miller ski's drunk.

I will watch as much of the Olympics until Feb 16th when I get on the plane to Brasil to see the Stones and U2 shows there.

I went for 3 days to the Salt Lake games in 2002, met a bunch of Norwegians and had a great time there.

I want to see the U.S. do as well as they did 4 years ago, but as a Norwegian-American, I'm always happy to see Norway doing well as well. Good luck Bjornulf and to all your countrymen and women.

Bjornulf, since you've been using the internet since the late 70s, thinking back to that time, did you ever imagine it would change the world as much as it has? Has this happened earlier or later than you expected?

I want to see the kid that looks like Harry Potter win all the ski jumping events. I can't remember his name.

I love the winter games much more than the summer. I am a huge hockey fan but all the winter events like sking, speed skating, ski jumping, curling, cross country...all the sports we don't realy care about in the U.S. I realy enjoy during these two weeks.

Who usualy wins the most medals during the Winter Games? I know the U.S. did an all time best (for the U.S.) in 2002 for all medals.

Usually Austria wins a lot, really - don't know who wins the most, though.

I'll be watching on CBC (the Canadian network). They always have WAY better Olympics coverage than any of the US networks, and it's usually LIVE, not on tape delay.

Hi bv, I really hope that those bastard Norwagian cross field skiers will be caught this time. Everyone knows that there is super technology in doping there in Norway! Just looka at that guy Dählie, he is a bigger walking labarotary than Keith Richards - but at least Keith is not a hypocrite! We Finns are just stupid amateurs in this field...

CBC covers all events live? If so that is great. The last 3 to 4 Olympic game NBC has messed all the coverage up with all taped events when they could have put them on live. Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggggggggg

Not only that, they hardly show any non Americans, making it almost impossible to see any athletes from my country. Best example, a few years ago they showed that one of the US speed skaters broke the world record. That's very good, but they failed to show that after his race his time was beat by another skater who grabbed the gold.

Sorry no doping in Norway we are simply that good in winter sports. If you had seen how it looks like outside my house you would understand. 2-3 feet of snow and nothing else to do than grab the skies or skates and fight the winter. Plus we are constatntly chased by wild animals so we have to run fast.

PS. Internet was e-mail only in the 70's and 80's. Early 90's I worked with browsers and thought it was interesting but I have to admit I did not see the big thing about it. I had an article in IORR 22 in 1995 writing about internet and back then nobody were online. So we are talking about from zero to one hundred in a fast speed. Today the web is where i work...

Koen- they NHL takes a 2 week hiatus while the Olympics are on.

What will be fun is watching Wayne Gretzky squirm while in Turin. He has just been implicated in a betting scandal.

i love the winter games...when i lived in denver my best friend worked for IMG..he is now independent..he was in charge of winter sports...i was lucky to get to meet allot of ski racers and also got plenty of freebees on gear....i used to hang around allot w. Bill Johnson..yhe 84 gold medal winner..the guy was cool untill people started ribbing him...then trouble...shame he has had some problems...he wreked pretty good in 2002 and has never fully recoverd he does'nt even remember me.. my friend does Body's endorsments...the guys a bit of a head case.....
