Back of my hand....forever gone ?

Why did they skip BOMH so soon ?
I thought it could have become a great highlight song of this tour.
They could easily extend this song and work on it live like they did for example with OOC in 97.

Just compare the Chicago version from OOC in September 97 to the St.Louis PPv version from december 97.

BOMH could have been a holy great Blues jam session song this tour.

i loved the song triple of BOMH,MR and Night Time...that were 3 bluesy punches in a row.

Now they do shows with almost no blues part at all....heaven knows why.

The stones not playing Blues live is unimagineable to me.

It's a shame they've dropped this one, I really enjoyed it on the boots I heard of it.

Yeah, excellent song. If they're not going to play it, they could at least start playing another ABB song. RFD, RJ and ONNYA are getting tiresome!

They managed to take all the songs out of the set that would be highlights for me. As Tears Go By, Back of My Hand, Shes So Cold, Out Of Control, 19th Nervous Breakdown..

No blues songs, hardly any new songs.. Its pretty sad.

But at least they keep playing You Got Me Rocking every night (joke)

A friend of mine saw them in Vegas and got to see them pass by in a hotel lobby. He said there were a few drunk people yelling to Keith about the shitty set list, Keith just waved back at everyone. Maybe it was some fellow IORR memebers.

Back of My Hand had better NOT be forever gone. I enjoyed that song so much at Albany last year, really really hope they do it in Europe.

Hound Dog and I are on the same page here. It's almost like they are out to get me (us) personally for our "setlist caring" posts.

I vote for Back On My Hand and Down In The Hole at the B-Stage!!!
Okay... Hide Your Love is also a great one! But I am afraid of what Chuck will do with that song (well, nothing if he just stays with the theme of the song and don't play solo...)

I heard it at MCI. Incredible performance. Much better than the studio.

I loved Back of My Hand and also Out of Control (this tour) the couple of times I've heard them on this tour. As Tears Go Bye was also a special treat for those of us that saw Montreal show and heard it!

only plausible explanation for its apparent permanent removal from rotation would be that Mick just didn't wanna have to bother with his guitar chore here. Having said that, I really didn't think he needed to strap that baby on anyway - would much rather have heard him wail on the harp while Woody did the slide licks (he does this nicely on the versions I've heard, which really made Mick's licks superfluous anyway).

Back of my hand @ MCI in DC was the highlight of the show. They really shouldnt take this gem away from future audiences. For the sake of Europe audiences, I hope they at least rotate it in occassionaly.

Off the top of my head, can think of three reasons why this should be reinstalled:

1) This is, puportedly, the tour for A Bigger Bang
2) It is the only thing resembling a blues that they are doing this tour
3) Ronnie sounds best this tour when he plays slide.

I am sure there are others, just can't think of them. It is Monday..........

4) it's the only ABB song performed that sounds better live than on record

It's about time someone said something to them.As far as Back Of My Hand goes,I do think it's a very good song and it is better live (I witnessed it at Fenway 1 & 2 + Albany) but,it doesn't go over very well in an arena or especially in a stadium. It's just way too slow for all of the casual fans. It's nothing close to what any of them expect or would appreciate. It's similar to The Storm.Could anyone imagine the Stones playing The Storm in a stadium or even in an arena?I honestly think that Fancy Man Blues would go over better. If they can play Back Of My Hand, this means there are tons of other songs they could play & no matter how unknown, probably get a better reaction.Don't get me wrong.I do believe there is a place for some slower songs and new songs in these shows but, this one was pushing it.

I'm kind of partial to the Fenway and Albany versions because I was there but, other than those,I would say 1)Saint Paul 2)Philadelphia - I think it was the second night there. 3)Madison Square Garden '05.

I wasn't at Fenway, but from the boots I've heard, it is the best.

I agree 100%....and HoldOnToYourHat and 4tylicks are 100% correct.....Back of My Hand at MCI was INSANELY good....

in fact....I would say best song of the 5 shows I saw...MCI, Charlottesville, Charlotte, Boston Garden (2)...

not that the other shows weren't insanely good....

WHERE THE F is "It Won't Take Long"???

Is Back Of My Hand forever gone?Well, the fact that it wasn't played in Chicago or Atlanta on the second trips there this tour where they were looking for songs not played at the '05 Chicago and Atlanta shows seems to indicate that it will be gone forever. How was the Hollywood version?I don't have those cds yet.
