i Know, somebody will disagree! Its a great album --for sure. but---where is a song like "Midnight Rambler" Or "Sympathie"?.. Casino boogie--"turd on the run--i just seen his face---soul survivour--are "fillers" --I mentioned "Beggars" and "Bleed"-but what i like most is "Aftermath" and "out of our heads".

I see what you mean, but Exile is the studio album I clearly play the most. Why?

Exile makes me feel happy, relaxed. The other albums are wonderful, but they have a more serious feel.

Removing Exile from the Stones discography would be like removing the gospels from the christian bible. Everything revolves around Exile.

All Down The LIne, Rocks Off, Loving Cup, Shine a Light.......no fillers there. Oh yeah, add Tumbling Dice and Happy.....

I have Exile on number five spot or something. Overrated for sure in my ears. Sticky, Bleed and Goats Head Soup are easily better albums. Ugh
And now the bomb that will shoot me down or throw me off this board, I even think that A Bigger Bang is better than Exile. Exile is just.... a lot of noice... in my ears. I did wash them today yes

I totally love that album.

Sticky Fingers is better. Tighter and more focused, and the best songs on SF are better than the best songs on Exile.

Well it IS a great album, but, yes, perhaps a bit overrated...

For me, the Big Four comes in this order:
1. Sticky Fingers
2. Let it Bleed
3. Beggars Banquet
4. Exile On Main Street

Exile = all killer, no filler. An album thats bigger than the sum of its parts. Just like the Stones themselves as a band.

Underrated? Overrated? These terms dont mean a thing.

I just adore Exile and it can never be overrated if you ask me. On the other hand, the rest of the Big Four always rock and roll and rule too.

I have always considered Exile to be an album that HAS to be listened to in its entirety, from start to finish, in order to experience the extraordinary range of musical styles that it offers.

I still rate it as one THE greatest albums of all time.

That is equal to saying that Exile is full of lies and so bloated that it would sink without floating.

Which I believe it is not, just to be clear. But that kind of statement is beyond arrogant. It, the album, is beyond anything of that sort.

The only true filler on the album is I Just Want To See His Face and maybe, just maybe, Let It Loose.

However, it is not their greatest album to me. It is a great record, absolutely. But there are others that are better.
