With a songbook like the Beatles, some of us think that Paul doesn't NEED any more hits...
Also, "since 1981", how many hits have the Stones had ? Or Fogerty or Dylan for that matter...
True hits, not pleasant sing alongs you listen to once and then they start collecting dust.

Yeah, I tried with a cheap shot too, but alas, nothing. Oh well, tomorrow is another day. I now have to clear my guilty conscience for crapping on a Beatle. Sorry Paul, it was just a bit of fun, I still luv ya. Just not when you make that stupid, pouty "I'm so cute" face or point your finger like a shotgun at someone (gotcha!). Then I don't luv ya no mo, and it is my duty to make fun of you.
Hey, I don't make the rules.
Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.
Ringo had 8 top 10 hits. Paul McCartney had 21. Let's face it: Wings = Paul McCartney. If you search for a list of McCartney hits, Wings are included, and rightly so.
Please remember that talent and popularity are not always measured equally. For example, Mariah Carey just caught Elvis (and trails only the Beatles) for amount of number one hits. While she has a better body than Elvis or McCartney, she has nowhere near their talent.
I don't like Mac Cartney at all. But I must admit that he is currently doing things gracefully and with a lot of professionnalism. His 2005 show at the Stade de France in Paris was praised by the public (I did not attend) and the press. He is walking his way perfectly.
The Beatles are the other great band of history. I like them too. But they never had the same rank in my feeling and thinking as the Stones. The Stones are blues and rock rooted. There are numerous tracks the Beatles never would have written like "Stray Cat Blues", and they never would have realized an album as "Exile" or ABB. McCartney is a great musician with an extraordinary song writer faculty. But it is always the same experience: If I hear other bands like Led Zep or Beatles for a longer period, soon I hear some riffs in my head, and they are Keith's riffs, and then I'm back.
