This is interesting. I don't know what I'll be playing at the stroke of midnight. Hopefully, something by the Stones. Maybe Brown Sugar: "you should've heard him just around midnight"...lol

Well, it's pretty unimaginative, but for the first second of 2006, how can it not be Start Me Up?

At the Phil Lesh & Friends gig - it was a rousing version of the well-worn classic "Truckin'" with John Mayer ably handling lead vocals. Great great show.

we were listening to a re-sequenced version of ABB (i don't like the regular running order) that was on LWTCDI at midnight.

i always thought it would be hilarious at a party to sneak "Asleep" by the Smiths on at midnight.

"Twentieth Century Blues", by Noel Coward

20th Century Blues

Twentieth century blues are getting me down
Blues, escape those dreary twentieth century blues
Why, if there’s a God in the sky, why shouldn’t he grin
High above this dreary twentieth century din

In this strange illusion, chaos and confusion
People seem to lose their way
What is there to strive for, love or keep alive for
Say, hey hey, call it a day

Blues, nothing to win or to lose, it’s getting me down
Blues, escape those weary twentieth century blues

Why is it that civilized humanity can make this world so wrong
In this hurly-burly of insanity, our dreams cannot last long
We’ve reached a deadline, a press headline, every sorrow
Blues value is news value tomorrow

"The wonder of Jimi Hendrix was that he could stand up at all he was so pumped full of drugs." Patsy, Patsy Stone
