OT: A couple of good London gigs coming up

Both at the 100 Club, Oxford Street

November 13th - Pretty Things - saw them down there earlier this year - fantastic band

November 11th - The Fleur De Lys - reformed for a one-off gig. They haven't played together for almost 40 years. I hear that Sharon Tandy may be joining them too.

And I'll be there too. Saw the Pretty's doing SF Sorrow at some place in Gt Portland St in April. Killer show.

Fleur De Lys - that sounds pretty cool. And Sharon Tandy joining. Hold On - one of the greatest freak beat singles ever.

And here it is guys and gals -

What kind of music is the Pretty Things. They are a unknown in Canada. Do you sound like some band?

Andy,

Thanks so much for pointing out the Fleur De Lys gig...I don't know too much about them, but 'Hold On' is one of my favourite songs ever!
If they play that at the 100 Club and Sharon is up there with them...that will certainly be a moment for me.

As for the Pretty Things...got my ticket weeks ago. the 100 Club gig earlier in the year was superb...but the S.F. Sorrow gig at Easter was a dream come true.

I recorded (almost all) that gig onto minidisc (yeah, I know..antique technology), but also downloaded the version that was posted dimeadozen. Was someone here responsible for that? Interesting to see the number of people that went to the gig posting on here...there can't have been more than a couple of hundred people there on the night.

We should meet in The Ship - legendary Wardour Street boozer where all the bands used to drink before playing The Marquee.

And don't forget the Deadstring Brothers who are touring the UK, Spain, and the US later this year. Probably more exciting that a bunch of 40 year old bands smileys with beer
