Whist not necessarily related - I am struggling to get my head around the fact that a new ABB release with bonus DVD is around the corner, whilst there is still no word for the reamed fan club members who've actually paid for a DVD, any word of which has been lacking for some considerable time now.

Once and for all, should we just get over it, or will this thing happen at some point in our respective lifetimes? Does anyone know? Thanks

Since we did not get the DVD, I realize some people got the book but I didn't, and we were told we had a chance for theaters and we didn't get that, I think we have reason to complain. I think it's great they gave the pre 05/09/05 pre-purchase option and extended the club for a year but fulfill the obligations PLEASE. We have been far too patient and any other business would have been blacklisted by the Better Business Bureau or investigated for fraud. They don't even return emails.

I'm not getting it. ABB is shit. The Stones are creatively bankrupt. They should have stopped at Licks and called it a day.

with sssoul - i'm not sure who your post is aimed at - but if the bonus DVD turns out to be the fan club DVD that they used in conjunctiopn with other stuff to "bait" us then of course myself, and a shitload of others like me would be satisfied, assuming it landed on our doorstep.

By the way, I, unlike a proportion of others who seem to revel in gratuitous @#$%& whingeing on this site, feel that this is a topic worthy of the attention of the masses. I am at this point questioning the integrity of the people who manage & drive the official fan club!

i wasn't "aiming" at anyone, nor would i dream of defending the fan club's bizarre antics over the promised DVD;
i'm simply interested. on at least one other board there are folks who are upset at the idea that this might be the "fanclub DVD".
personally, i could go both ways: at this point it would be good to have this, good to have anything;
on the other hand didn't they say at the start that the "fanclub DVD" was going to be some kind of "exclusive"?
anyway i am already practicing my pained guffaw for when they announce that this is indeed our "fanclub DVD" only *after* i've trotted out and bought the thing.

The fan club DVD doesnt exist and never has done. Anyone who thinks it does is delusional.

you've missed the point big time gazza - the reason this keeps coming up is that fan club members were promised it, and the "appeasement" package was thrown in as an interim apology of sorts for this taking so long.

There has never been any official statement that all that shit was in leiu of the DVD. I, like many others wait (potentially in vain i concede) for these asswipes to come good and deliver what we effectively purchased in good faith.

This is why we quite rightly are quite dubious of the integrity of whoever it is behind this "fan club".

Their message board is crap and all screwed up technially. I haven't visited in weeks.

Think you missed MY point, Tom - in that I'm being entirely cynical of the fan club and sympathising with you 100%. I know there hasnt been an official statement regarding it - what I'm implying is that I think your 1 day advance on presales (which no doubt many of you bought hoping for theatre shows for a tour that hadnt been announced but which was hinted at) is about as good as you're going to get from these crooks in so far as getting something that everyone else DIDNT get is concerned

However, the DVD doesnt exist and never has done,some 18 months after they invited applications for it. IF you ever get one, it will be something that (as of now) hasnt even been put together. I think in the FAQ on the site which was updated when the current tour was announced, they stated that they were going to get the DVDs sent out around July.

Now you mention though, maybe they'll end up sending you all a copy of the special edition Bigger Bang CD & DVD package - which no doubt will arrive several months after you've all bought the bloody thing anyway. It'll be a bit like all those "40 Licks" cds sent out with the last membership which everyone had already bought

I respect and get your point Gazza - it is a shame that so many have become cynical as you say on the back of all this.

What's really ironic is that when the virtual corp, rolling stones worldwide $$ vacuum cleaner cranks up, so may non-core fans unlike us are extremely cynical and overtly critical of them.

And here we are, the hard-core, through and through supporters getting caught up and ripped off in what amounts to nothing more than a scam.

It would be interesting if anyone close to this from the stones' end reads this, and has the balls to make the right people aware of the fact that there are many disgruntled fans out here as a result of this.

About the fanclub DVD:

The ones who never got it should gather their names written on paper and send it to the Stones Office (Wherever that is). The headline should be: "Where's our fanclub DVD"????
