Turbonegro rocks pretty hard. I kinda like them. What is with the hats? And at 1: 48 that singers beer-gut is not a good sight. LOL

Sweden. My band/artists that IMHO all deserve the place as best:

* The Soundtrack of Our Lives (TSOOL)
The best rock band ever 1995-1998 when main song writer Björn Olsson was a member.
Today they're as tame as a neutered old tomcat.

* Bo Hansson
Psychedelic folk rock and jazz. Hard to describe. Way ahead of it's time.

* Hep Stars
If Tages was the Beatles of Sweden then Hep Stars was a mix between The Who and The Rolling Stones. Amazing for it's time and they sure rocked.

* The Spotnicks
Forget Abba and the Cardigans - these guys toured the world long before them. A rougher and more space influenced version of the Shadows.

* Solar Plexus
Jazz and folk rock in a beautiful mixture. Best male singer from Sweden on vocals (Tommy Körberg) with musical backup from amazing guitar player Jojje Wadenius, bass player Bosse Häggström, drummer Tommy Borgudd and the musical genius couple Monica and Carl-Axel Dominique on keyboards.

btw: I feel that since the norweigans on the forum already has mentioned Turbonegro I just want to say that my favorite band from Norway is Kåre & the Cavemen aka Euroboys. smiling smiley

Re Turbonegro,

If you really wanna have some fun
"The Reserection" - The DVD
Several papers and magazines in the US rated it just as good as 'Spinal Tap'
Want to try one album... 'Apocalypse Dudes'

This is cool but jump to 2.14 for the gig

More rough Finnish material (one of my very favorites ever):

Perhaps a few words of explanation are needed. M.A. Numminen is an underground musician from the 60's who has done all kinds of crazy (wonderful, that is) things during the decades (like here singing Wittgenstein). He has also a kind of cult reputation in Sweden and Germany.

And if one thinks that Dylan's voice is a bit hard to handle... hmm.... you ain't hear anything yet!

DumDum Boys. Been a fan since 1986. Unfortunately - they sing in Norwegian. If they'd chosen English, they'd have been a household name all over the planet.
A guitarist with a history quite parallell to KR and a singer vith the same energy as Mick. And a sweet reliable drummer - stylish little thing - just like Charlie.
Listen to this - and you know what I mena. I'm just a sucker for those good riffs.

And this!

Or this!

(Yes, Little Frenchie - that's part of my extended family. And that little one knows exactly what to say and do - yes, she's the boss around here.)

Best band from the USA - With british bands out that one is hard for me. I love CCR. The Hendrix Experience but I believe Mitch Mitchell was from Britain.
