In my opinion, one of the best rock songs that's come out of Sweden, music- and lyric-wise.

Baboon: didn't know you were from that town. Were you banned from the Åhlens cafeteria?

Nah, but it did indeed upset me a bunch..
I wrote some debate contribution in the local paper..
So.. Locksmith.. Are you from there or maybe the neighborhood?
And it wasnt the cafeteria in itself but the mall/Store in its totality the punkers were banned.
Thats why the Äckelpäckelklubb started in Forum instead; but eventually it migrated over to Åhléns.
But by that date, punk was almost dead.

"Äckelpäckelklubb started in Forum instead..."

Ah, haven't heard that word in quite a while. I'm not a native but spent considerable time there visting relatives during the punk and post-punk years.
I remember going to a great concert with Brända Barn and Diestinct at Hedbergska in -83. Good times.

Actually, that's what I thought myself (it was definitely in December) but it must have been this concert (I'm not the photographer, but I did take some pictures myself that night):

Yes, you're right.. My bad.. Mixed up the years..
Did ya catch the Thunders gig at the same place?
From which town or area/county are ya, Locker-Smith?

I was a huge Thunders fan at this time and saw him in Karlskrona (I'm a Southerner) in June -83. By sheer luck, going to the gig I and my mate found ourselves in the same train compartment as Thunders and Nolan. A memorable trip. Thunders had just recorded with Jimmy Miller ["Jimmy? He's just an old junkie"], and was in great spirits, smoking joints and frolicking with his gf.

Well that's purdy cool thumbs up. I remember a far out rendition of Pipeline..
but for sure he was an ol' junkie himself by then, ol' Thunderey boy.

"a far out rendition of Pipeline"

Yes, in his best moments, Thunders could tear down the house.

But getting back to the topic, Brända Barn was another astonishing band, although their one record did not quite capture the overwhelming power of their live performaces.

It's hard not to say Neil Young but since he's been mentioned I have to go with The Band. 4/5 of them are from my neck of the woods in and around Southwestern Ontario.

WTF

You're the offspring of a genuine living legend who is one of the greatest pioneers in rock n roll history, as evidenced by the name of your myspace page - and you pick someone else?

At least no one can say you're not biased!

If I were the offspring of someone like that, I don't think I would pick them either!

Its a father/son thing, I guess!

From the land mass as a whole, its gotta be Van Morrison.
from my home county (Cork) its gotta be Rory Gallagher his adopted home.
from home town wellits little more than a village, but it did produce folk pych cult legends Loudest Whisper and Ron Kavana, i'll go with Ron.

Yeah like if you were Marlon you wouldn't pick Keith you might pick Ronnie for example or the Beatles just to wind him up.

From The Netherlands of course bands like Golden Earring and Cuby and the Blizzards belong
to the best. But they are both standing in an international blues and rock oriënted tradition.
They sing in English too, so sometimes it's hard to explain what's Dutch about them.

More in a Dutch tradition and very good too are De Dijk:
