I haven't heard of it, but if there was one I'd bet it'd be called "Boogie with Stu".

There's books. There's limited edition books. And then there's this...

"A limited edition book, Stu, about Ian Stewart, privately published by Out-Take and published in an edition of 950, compiled and edited by Will Nash. Featuring over 100 text and photographic contributors about Stewart, co-founder of The Rolling Stones. Hand-bound in leather, each copy of the book includes an accompanying signed and numbered edition screenprint of Stu drawn by Ronnie Wood. A slipcase houses this book and folio set."

Never (afik) been reprinted.

William Nash appears here and in other "fan" places from time to time.

PS. I did know about this book, and Google was my Friend in finding that reference

CaptainCorella, I thank you so, so much and I tried Duck Duck Go ing it,
I guess I need to learn some more about searching. Really, thanks so much smiling smiley
That's the one alright. Now I know why I haven't heard about it after all
the copies were presumably gone. smiling smiley
Although I'm not completely sure this is the book I'm thinking of.
It sure seems like when I heard about the book I'm thinking of, there
was a picture of the cover. I remember it being a black and white of Stu
from the waist up outside somewhere. I could be wrong but that's how I
remember it. Not a Ronnie Wood drawing

Why would you want to sell a diamond like that? I was given the oportunity to read the whole book (that was quite a job). Many contributions from famous people, like Led Zeppelin guys, Clapton, etc. Great read.

It may go without saying to those that already have one, but the STU book is truly a work of art.

I got my copy two days ago (including a print from RW) and am still speechless.
Holy Moly, Holy Margret, mein lieber Herr Gesangsverein: what a package!
Besides the Nellcote Chronicles, the Crown Jewels in any collection of Stones related books. I am not able yet to express how special this leather clad piece of art is.

Thread closed? User left? What did I miss?
May I pass his mail address?

Cheers, Fillmore

OK I have splurged and taken advantage of the tremendous savings deal that Will had been offering, which basically covers the shipping to get this bad boy across the pond to me!!! Thanks Fillmore for your help! Thanks to Will for what I anticipate to be a simply magnificent book! I'm happy to be adding this to my collection!!!! I figure what I saved on the UDiscover debacle more than makes up for this!!! LOL

Well it’s hand bound, and hand anything costs money. And from all the comments others have said, it seems to be a very remarkable book quality wise and a very limited edition. To me it’s both an investment and a fine art item added to my collection. It’s sure to only go up in value, and now I can finally add Ronnie’s signature to my collection!!!!

Got my copy in the mail yesterday, and I can only say that I am utterly speechless. I handled it as if it were the Mona Lisa. I flipped thru it a couple of times, and do very much look forward to reading it once I get settled into whatever new place I find. The book is very heavy. The leather and binding are exquisite - goat leather!!! The inside cover coloring I absolutely love, annnnnnd then there is there is the Ronnie print - finally having Ronnie's signature!!! I have #637, though mine did not have that sticker that Kurt's does above. Certainly not a big deal, I wouldn't have even of known about it if not for the picture above. This book is absolutely gorgeous. The pictures - early ones of Stu and Charlie, at this point are so sentimental. This is truly a labor of love, and I am absolutely over the moon to be one of the few proud owners of this magnificent volume. This book is worth every penny, and I'm glad I took advantage of the 60th discount and splurged now instead of waiting....even if it puts me a little further away from a new place!!! Sometimes there are sacrifices to be made in life, and for this book, it is more than worth it!!!! Will, Very Well Done, sir!!!

Kudos to you, and thank you for making this available to the world, and us as fans of this amazing band!!!

The book "Stu" was published in 2003 by Will Nash. See the press release and Testimonials:

Ian Stewart Tribute Book
A Privately Published Limited Edition Book

Stu Book Testimonials by Charlie Watts, Bill Wyman and others

The printed IORR magazines had reports about the book. The following is a copy of one of the reports, from IORR no. 51:

Out of 950 copies there are still some un-bound, as well as bound to-hand copies available from the publisher. The original publishing price was in 2003 £570 (+ shipping). With increasing cost of binding, shipping etc, the book have been selling at £750 lately. There is an IORR discount of 20% bringing the book cost down to £600. The published will add details here soon.

I did recommend this book highly when it was published back in 2003. If I ever get time then I will dig out those IORR Magazine prints from my files, when the SIXTY tour is over. It sure is one of the top ten books every fan should own, it is not much more than a pit ticket, and unlike a Stones show, which last for two hours or so, this book last forever. I am proud to own a copy of it.

The IORR discount code which can be used at checkout is IORR60. The book and signed/numbered Ronnie Wood print are sent via DHL.

Details including a short film are at www.out-take.com

If anybody has any questions or feedback my email address is at my IORR profile. Thanks to Bjornulf for all he does for the stones community with this site and to everybody who has bought a copy of Stu - I do appreciate it.

I just finished reading this book over the weekend...

Makes me feel rather fortunate to have seen him onstage in 1981 with the Stones and only wish that I could have personally thanked him for his contributions to the music world.

Is it shipping from the UK? And if so is the shipping included? I live in Sweden, but I guess there will be all sorts of customs etc if it is shipped there? My son is studying in the UK, so I could maybe have it shipped to him.
